My work on fighters using Very Fine tip Sharpies
Fighters and Sharpies
I did the same thing to my fighter too.

Same here, though I didn't color each squad differently.
Edited by Moore1980I'm surprised at how well those came out. I might have to do a little experimenting with sharpies as well.
If you are looking to do use pens over paint I would recommend using Micron Pens. They are the "go to" pens used by most miniature painters (including myself) when doing fine work for things like text.

They have very fine points, and hold up well over time. It is how I plan on doing my Xwings. A base coat, airbrushed on, detail work with the pen, a wash, then a few highlights.
The 0.2 mm are what I usually use.
So if you are worried about having a steady hand I found an article that says if you used a dry-erase marker on the spots where you messed up and color over the sharpie mark with it and then wipe with a warm moist towel the sharpie will come off without damaging the plastic. I'll have to try this.
Also some Ties has a bit of flash on the wings. You can't tell unless you look close. Might want to use an exacto knife and check before you start coloring.
