This looks excellent! Your squad of experts is amazing. Looking forward to this

Can´t wait for this!

Thanks for doing these! I really enjoy watching your videos.

Thank you so much! I want to say that I also really enjoy your coverage of games and have watched all your episodes. (Your use of graphics and speeding up the planning phase is awesome)

I don't want this to become a large divergence from the topic at hand, but I often wish it wasn't so sped up. I remember watching Galactic Cup matches and it was truly fascinating (and helpful) to hear the hosts discuss possible maneuvers each round as the planning phase went down. I'd love the happy medium of sped up but still some of that discussion. I watch every episode but I don't feel like I learn very much about the lists without that extra time.

Any chance you could tell us how long there is until the next episode Sigzo?

We'll be releasing one episode per week for the first "season" 10 episodes in total. So next Sunday, and the following Sundays.

Really looking forward to this. That is QUITE the cast!!

I would second the comment about the hosts talking more about the game at hand and less about things outside of the game. For example by the time the 2 hosts have finished talking about their opinion on ship X with upgrade Y or the implications of a change to the FAQ, 2-3 turns may go by without comment.

Oops, bad connection led to a double post.

Episode II is has been published.

Welcome to Flight Academy by the Outer Rim Smugglers! In this episode we are going to be covering turns on large base ships. One of the more rewarding maneuvers in the game if done correctly, more of the frustrating one to get right though so we hope that after this episode you'll be better at judging this maneuver.

We'll be using an interactive game we created to judge your performance in this course. Please keep score in both sections of the inter active game and post them if you will, we'd love to hear how you did in each part to see if you improve after the tips and tricks section.

5 points pre-tips, 8 points after! I am terrible at 3-hards with large ships. Good to know!

Looks really cool (after episode one), what a neat idea and cool panel of experts.

Great job! I went 5/8 and then 7/8. These 3 turns are quite hard :-)

I went 7/8 (missed the second one) and then 8/8. Several were much closer than I thought though, I feel like I learned a bit, thanks!

Welcome to Flight Academy by the Outer Rim Smugglers! In this episode we are going to be covering planing phases and how to decide what's the best maneuver in each given situation.

We're using an interactive game we created, were you can judge your performance and compare it with other players as well as with our council of flight instructors. We'd love for you to record your score during the game and post it in the comments.

Post your scores below if you will :)

Has no one had a go on episode three ?

Has no one had a go on episode three ?

I had a go. I didn't do very well, but I don't feel to terrible about it. I felt like the option I picked was frequently the second best. probably would have done better if I remembered that E-Wings had green 2 banks and not green 1 banks.

Just as a comment - it is quite hard to gauge distances as someone who is not a vassal player and not knowing how much of the 3x3 area I am looking at. Plus, I often am able in real life to look at a template, hold an idea of it in my head, and then visualize it in front of the ship. With no templates to look at, I can't do that. Some templates away from the action would be helpful for how I visualize things.

It's 40 minutes. I haven't had the time recently, but I will.

These videos are great - keep up the good work!

Episode 3: 1 + 6 + 1 = 8 for me. Much to learn I have.

Seriously, though, these videos are great, guys. Awesome idea. Can't wait for the next one.

Good point we should have mentioned that, you are looking at the WHOLE table in each image, the line of range rulers down the right middle is the right edge of the playing field. and the edge of the video is the edge of the top/bottom/left of the board.

Thanx for the pointer, we'll mention that for the next video.

7 of 8 on both tests in the second. Apparently I can't improve. I'll get around to #3 later, I hope.

In episode 4 of the Outer Rim Smugglers Flight Academy we are going to take a look at a few ways to improve our game. We're going to take a look at pod casts, YouTube channels, websites that all have in common being a good resource for players to improve their game.

C&C Welcome as always!
