Can armor/helmet/shield be used in a craft battle to prevent loss of life?

Most Armor only work in battle, so no dice on psychic combat. Dungeon has a few special ones that work in psychic combat as well.

whenever it says battle it is strength, if it says attacks its both . armor used to prevents life lost in battles only goes for strength. but there is other armor and objects that prevents this in psychic combat
