Can armor/helmet/shield be used in a craft battle to prevent loss of life?

Most Armor only work in battle, so no dice on psychic combat. Dungeon has a few special ones that work in psychic combat as well.

whenever it says battle it is strength, if it says attacks its both. armor used to prevents life lost in battles only goes for strength. but there is other armor and objects that prevents this in psychic combat
