Hello everyone I have a 100 pt tournament coming up and it is my first one. I just wanted some advice on what to run. My freind is entering with scum and villainy and another freind is gonna run empire. I'm gonna run rebels. I was thinking I should run the yt 2400 with some headhunters? Is that a good plan?

getting started in any miniature game requires entering what I like to call the Trial and Error Peroid

the policy is "you're not going to win; try to have fun." To that end, fly whatever you enjoy the most!

As for "good plan," it depends on the YT and the # of headhunters. Anything with a mini-swarm is pretty solid, provided that the mini-swarm isn't made of inefficient ships (a-wings, scyks, alpha squadron interceptors), but pay attention to your positioning because I've seen (and been a part of) tons of new players blocking their fat YT-2400 with their own Zs.

Han Solo Millenium Falcon + Improved Engine + Chewee is a very easy ship to start. 360 degree firing and PS 9, just boost outside the firing arc of the hardest hitting enemies and roll them.bones. I think the Falcon plus two B is a user friendly fleet. Heavy shields, good firepower and only 3 dials to focus your mind. 4 Z 95 is not a bad idea but... Your choicewings is a very good fleet to start.

1x blue

2x rookie

3x Z's (bandits)

100 pts

lots of Guns, no upgrades to keep track of, just fly, point, and shoot.

I love playing this list myself. Had a lot of success with it.

Thanks everyone I'm not super new to the game I have played enough games yo know generally what I like. Just wasn't sure if I should go with a yt2400 with some upgrades or a yt1200 and yt2400 both upgraded

Two ships, 360 degree, can be quite...boring. Efective but... You know

Best advice for a tournament is: Fly what you know. If you haven't used the 2400 or 1300 a lot yet, it's not a good spot to learn. There's no magical winning list.

sorry Diesel, I should have said first Tourney, I myself played in my first store Tourney not long ago, I took a Scum list and was not very good at using it. I didn't have enough time to play test it. Lots of upgrades and stuff. so I switched to a Reb swarm. maybe my 2nd Tourney will be better. more time to practice.
