Obstacles Question

By Deagles, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Just wanting to make sure I'm clear on how moving into and through obstacles works.

When moving your ship, if the movement template or the ships base actually overlaps the obstacle, player must roll for damage.

But does the ship have to stop on the obstacle or can it continue through if the movement template passes through it?

Just in case it isn't clear, you only suffer the effect of colliding with an obstacle if the final position of your base overlaps an obstacle - or if the movement template overlaps the obstacle. You don't "fly" your ship along the template to see if it overlaps en-route.

In the event that your template overlaps, you complete the maneuver, roll for damage and skip your "perform action" step.

In the event that your final position leaves you overlapping an asteroid you roll for damage, skip your perform action step and you may not fire that turn.
