Armada, and problems with OCD

By kinnison, in Star Wars: Armada

I bought two core boxes (yes I know, I am tempted easily by the dark side) and I now have a dilemma. the Core set sends 10 pegs. 6 vic formations (Lead high and Lead low) and 4 Beam formations (Vertical Echelon beam, and Lead high beam)

or if quickly denoting it in ASCII code:

Lead High Vic: .'.

Lead low vic: '.'

Vertical Echelon Beam: .-'

Lead High beam: ,',

I stated before I want all the Imps to be in Beam formations, and the Rebels in Vic formations... and now i need to switch 4 of my Vics with Beams (or keep my "howrunner" in a vic. I bet I will have the same problem when wave 1 comes out. even tho the squadrons come in sets of 8 (2 of each)

I wonder if it is possible to heat up the pegs and bend them? or would that crack and break them?

Secondly, I made sure all the activation indicators on the squadrons have shiney side blue to the left of the Damage indicator.

any other OCD behaviors i should be worried about, and then seek profession help?

You know you could just find someone to trade pegs with...

The clear acrylic plastic that most all flight stands are made from doesn't bend well at all. Heating it up deforms the shape before it bends, and leaves it brittle.

Trading pegs is a good solution. I want to do so as well, but for now I just choose the best available pegs I have. I also have two Core sets (for the Imperials at least, swapped Reb/Imp with my brother), and I can't quite see myself fielding all 12 TIE squadrons I have available.

But I have this vision of a lighted curio cabinet in the near future, with a starscape background, lighted VSDs (and ISDs for Wave 2), and my neatly painted TIE squadrons arrayed beautifully on stepped glass or acrylic display shelves.

already did

That doesn't not cure me of my OCD behavior

Hey Kinnison, if you look really closely at your fighters TIE number 6 is three degrees out of alignment with the rest...

...that should keep him busy until wave 1 is released! ;)

I just took a deep breathe and washed my hands five times. It gets better after that.

waitaminute.. which one is number six? I have been using Aurebesh lettering NOW I GOT TO CHECK THEM ALL AND NUMBER THEM!

Also one of the X-Wings has an R5 unit not an R2 unit.

I fail to see any "problem" with the OCD behaviors you've been describing. They all sound perfectly normal and reasonable to me. :)

Buddy, do you know how many times now I've dipped my fighters (2 core sets) in boiling water to get perfect wing alignments? Most people would have burnt stumps for hands. I've torn apart each ship model and reconfigured it until each separate component was perfectly aligned and straight. No crooked or uneven looking Neb B for me. The struggle is real.

I just slapped mine together, hoped nothing was turned the wrong direction, and put it on the table. I dare you to come and look at it without fixing anything...
