When execuing a manouvre, your final position may be on the other side of the manouvre tool to which you started, as long as the ship does not overlap the tool.

I thought of this to give small ships some flexibility, whilst the overlap rule prohibits the effectiveness on medium and large ships

I like it - neat idea, which allows a forward moving ship to have some minor 'drift'

Sounds like a cool idea to me
