Greetings, after a long period of lurking, I finaly decided to register in order to start this thread. I have an upcomming tournament in a couple of days, a 60 point one, and I would like some input on the lists I consider playing.
I have for a long time wanted to play a list with Eaden Vrill, and after a bit of playing around I came up with this:
List 1
Eaden Vrill 32
-Tactical Jammer 1
Gray Squadron Pilot 20
-Ion Cannon Turret 5
-R3-A2 2
-BTL-Title
Total 60p
So, the Y-wing attacks a enemy ship, thereby stressing it, and hopefully "ioning" it, then Vrill strikes, earning himself an extra attack die. Repeat until you achive victory. But when I looked at the Y-wings dial, I realised that the fat bastard only got two green manouvers, both straight, which means that Im gonna have a hard time keeping the enemy in my firing arc. Back to the drawing bord it seems. Then I came up with this:
List 2
Eaden Vrill 32
-Tactical Jammer 1
"Hobbie" 25
-R3-A2 2
Total 60p
The X-wing´s dial is much better than the Y-wings, which means it can easier keep its enemies in its arc, and "Hobbie" can, by always taking target-locks, shed this stress while stressing his opponent for the "Vrill Bonus". However, this list forgoes the ability to ion the opponent, and if focus fired, the X-wing will quickly evaporate, especially when not performing focus actions.
So now I seek the advise of people way more experienced than me. Is the increased manuverability of list 2 worth more than the expanded control capabilities and more durability of list 1?
