Question about limited ammo.

So, loving all the rules so far. However, the limited ammo rule is confusing me.

When it's on a weapon (like the fiver pistol) does this mean that you can only fire 5 shots, then reload and once reloaded do you decrease the LA stat down to the next rank?

The limited ammo just means how many shots you get before you have to do the reload maneuver. Then you get X number of shots again and reload again, etc.

And it is generally ammo you have to buy somewhere. Like concussion missiles or proton torpedos. Basically not stuff that you can just recharge on the ship and go again, unlike blasters with just a bit of Tibana gas and power.

Ok, so most weapons don't need to buy ammo, but weapons that are one shots (Rocket launchers, grenades) need to be bought again. So how does that effect the Grenade launcher from DaCo?

Read the item description. It A) Doesn't come with ammo and B) ammo costs the same as equivalent hand grenades.

Oh, ok. I seem to fail at reading.

Reading that post, I realized that the Limited Ammo characteristic imposes the players (especially the GM) to adapt their narration of a combat.

When a minions group is targeted, Critical success or Triumph allow to neutralize (kill, stun, whatever) one extra minion regardless the number of damage inflicted by the attack. Besides, massive damage can neutralize several minions of a group in a single attack.

For “regular weapons” (I mean by regular weapons, weapons without the Limited Ammo characteristic), it’s easy to describe several blaster bolts fired by the attacker killing three stormtroopers in a single assault (15 damages plus a Triumph). But for a weapon with the Limited Ammo, it would not be fair (and sometime not possible) to ask the attacker to spend extra ammo to match its successes.

So, to describe several “kills” with a single attack, players have several options in addition of the extra expenditure hits: a wounded minion bump into one other, knocking him off the battle; surviving minions flee the battle (don’t work with the stormtroopers); while he was trying to evade the attack, a minion fall out of the catwalk, etc….

Doesn't it also say there is a discount for purchases of six? I'm away from my book at the moment so I can't double check.
