Wave 3 Speculation / Wish List

Out of curiosity sake why of all the New Program and other New Republic capital ships from the E did you pick the Majestic? I would rather have a Sacheen or a Corona line. though the odds of the latter appearing are almost nil IMO.

Everything has been mentioned that I'd like to see, except the Golan I-III defense platforms. They'd be great for scenarios and would add an interesting dynamic. At the earliest, I see this in Wave 5 or 6, though, if it comes at all.

Yeah! I forgot about those. Would make some really interesting scenarios.

My mind doesn't revolve around phallic associations, I guess. Though, I hear that triangles have been used to symbolize the female pubic area. Is that okay with you, or should Lucasfilm reconsider the Empire's basic design too?

No need to be so touchy.

No worries, man. Just having fun. ;)

Interdictor Star Desroyer
Tartan Patrol Cruiser
Elite Empire Squadron Pack which would ideally include 2 each of the following TIE variants:

Defender, Phantom, Hunter, Punisher (Interdictor).

I really havent looked at the Rebels much, but for Imperials I would really like to see some of the smaller ships added as they made up the bulk of their fleets. That includes Strike Class Cruisers, Munifex Cruisers, Enforcers, any of the interdictors and any of the corvettes and gunships. Also carriers would be a cool addition to or possibly assault ships that allowed boarding of enemy vessels.

For the Imperials I'd like to see:

- Strike Cruiser

- Lancer Frigate

- Immobilizer Cruiser

- Vindicator Cruiser

- Ton-Falk-class escort carrier

And eventually the Executor-class Star Dreadnought.

For the Rebels I'd like to see:

- Dreadnought Class Cruiser

- Assault Frigate MKI

- Neutron Star-class Bulk Cruiser

- Alliance escort carrier

- Winged Mon Calamari Cruiser

And eventually the Bulwark Mark III Battle Cruiser as a counterpart to the Executor.

I'm curious to see if they end up doing a Prequals series for X-Wing and Armada. Droid Fighters vs Jedi Star Fighters and Clone Pilots, Trade Federation vs Grand Naval Fleet of the Republic. Hmm. I wonder if they are working on this with Force Awakens and Disney, already. That would be a sick Christmas release, Mk3 Star Destroyers.

This is the MK1 Assault Frigate I would like to see. Rules wise it would probably be like the Nebulon B's much bigger brother. I wish this had been the one we got first.

I thought that was the nebulon b2?

They look alike but aren't the same. Though why someone chose the two pronged Assault Frigate MK 1 over the more common one prong variant is beyond me. The two prong variant is only in one soucebook and one video game. The single prong variant is older and appears in comics, games, and the original sourcebooks depicting the AF mk I.

The two prong is so unknown that wizards also made a mini of it for their fleet game... Probably because it just looks better.

If 'looks better' means 'Looks like a kitbash of a Nebulon-B2 and a dreadnaught', then sure.

If they do go with the MK I, I'd put money on them doing the normal one. FFG seems much more respectful of the old-school Star Wars canon than Wizards was (Wizards hasn't produced anything decent since the Ice Age/Alliances block, tbqh, and when they tried to overwrite SW canon, I wanted to urinate on their shoes).

I liked the two-pronged assault frigate (probably because it's so similar to the B2), but if I had to choose between that and the B2, my vote is for the B2. This is because the assault frigate has many other good depictions but there is only one nebulon-B2. And I'd love to see TIE Fighter and X-Wing's flight simulators make more of an impact on Armada (And X-Wing, but I'm kind of giving up there...)

Say what you will about the game and story of EaW: FoC, but the Consortium had awesome ships.

Wizards of the Coast created the two pronged variant so of course that's what they chose to use for their mnis game.

I don't see any point to creating a new drawing for an existing design and feel it is disrespectful to the original designers to do so. I love the Neb-B2 and I'm hoping t will appear in both Armada and the RPG.

I never understood why Wizards of the Coast converted the Assassin class Corvette, which also first appeared in TIE Fighter, to the Saga edition RPG but didn't convert the Neb-B2 and I'm hoping that FFG does not repeat that decision.

Don't forget the Vengeance class Frigate either though balancing a shieldless capital ship in Armada might be tricky.

Maybe it could have a unique command dial or defense token?

One of those things that you can't really explain why you fall in love with it you just do... it's the big wishlist item of the four,(the others being reasonable expectations at some point).

One thing is for sure, they are going to be creating a lot of EU ships soon.

What about the Corellian gunship/ DP20?

Assault Frigate MK1, which looks SO much better than that dumb crap we're getting in wave one. The MK2 looks ridiculous, like someone started making a ship, then decided to stop 1/3 of the way into it. It's not worthy of the assault frigate namesake. Ever since I first saw it in SW:EAW, that thing has angered me.

Would love the dreadnought, although unsure which faction would get it.

Hapan Battle Dragons would be cool too.

Maybe heavy corellian corvette, mod neb b (the two prong one).

Imperium:

Squadrons:

- TIE Defender

- Assault Gunboat

- Missileboat/TIE Aggressor

- TIE Avenger

(as a Zsinj-Fan, I'd love to see the TIE-Raptors...and Chiss Clawcrafts)

Capital Ships:

- System Patrol Craft

- Lancer Frigate

- Carrack Cruiser

- Tartan Cruiser

- Interdictor (Immobilisier418)

- Dreadnaught

- Nebulon B

- Nebulon B2

- Strike Cruiser

Rebels:

Squadrons:

- Escort Shuttles

- Z95 Headhunters

- E-Wing

- K-Wing

Capital Ships:

- MC80 Liberty

- MC40

- Dreadnaught

- Nebulon B2

- Marauder Corvette

- Captured Imperial Ships

Honestly, as long as we get Admiral Daala, Admiral Thrawn, and Admiral Piett I'll be happy with whatever ships they get.

To this end, the Crusader-class Corvette would be the perfect edition as it was featured in both the Maw Regular and Irregular fleets.
