Has anyone seen the New(ish) Bandai Star Wars Model Kits?

By Funkleton, in X-Wing

Check ebay. It's where I got mine.

Slave 1 on the way -only 1/144 scale tho

and her infamous owner

The Fett figure is pretty awesome and I will definitely be picking one up.

Slave I on the other hand... I have both the 1/72 and 1/144 scale versions from Fine Molds and I don't know if I can justify buying another 1/144 scale version.

I know everybody is waiting for FFG announcement of their "contribution to Force Friday" but have you seen the new Bandai models? I own every single kit they've recently released and the quality is just outstanding. http://bandai-hobby.net/sw/products/ep07.html

Oh wow.

Those are fantastic. But you know what's super interesting? That Riot gear.

Finally a decent Falcon kit that isn't going to cost $500+! Now if only they had one in 1/72!

yeah if it was only

yeah if only it was 1/72 I would be all over it.. assuming it was affordable!!

Allegedly Disney has gotten wind of the fact that people have been importing these kits from Japan, cutting into the sales for their European / American licence holder, and in their view, violating the terms of Bandai's licence.

Whatever has happened, the upshot is that as of the 20th of this month, Japanese sites will no longer be allowed to sell Bandai Star Wars Kits outside of Japan.

Obviously there will still be a grey market for these on eBay but it will quite likely push prices up.

Get em while you can folks

Yay! Super excited for that A wing. The problem is that I always have to choose between modeling, epic ship electronics, and repainting X wing. I don't have enough time for all of them :(

Tell me about it - I've got to pay for a family holiday, a new mode of transport, and a course to update my current skillset this year - and I haven't even got my hands on wave 8 yet!! :o

Being a grown-up is starting to become seriously overrated

Well, the flip side of it is when I was a kid I wouldn't have the choice between models, epic ships, or repainting since I wouldn't be able to afford to have all three. One maybe. If I was lucky!

And tip for those family holidays - get into camping! Super cheap way to go places. The lady and I have an annual budget of ~$700 for summer trips, and we go away pretty much every other weekend. Nothing like $10/night at the state campgrounds. Plus, it's more fun to huddle around a camp fire and make your own dinner than it is to get Pizza Hut and watch HBO on the bed.

Unfortunately the brains of the operation will not camp - so camping trips consist of me on my own (fine until I get home) - or me and her kids (better once I get home) :D

we've compromised this year and have a cabin in a forest park booked - and it's only ten times the price of camping - bonus!

Got to love camping

Get to spend a bunch of money to live like a homeless person

I can attest to how magnificent these kits are both as a wargamer and a model enthusiast. Top notch detail and a great build.

Ya they are pretty sweet

Wish I knew how to paint

I just applied the stickers.

Still looks nice, but not as nice as the box, and the little man is white minus stickers I applied that came with

And omg, r2d2 stickers are so small, barely hold them with the tweasers lol

Super excited about the A Wing and Interceptor, now we just need a 1/72 B Wing and TIE Bomber and my OT collection will be complete!

Yes please.

Is it just me, or would the Deathstar turret that comes with the A-wing work great for recreating a Deathstar assault scenario for X-wing?

I'm Hoping they release the 1/900 Star Destroyer Model - that's about the right scale for Epic play right? :)

Bandai-Star-Wars-Star-Destroyer-1.jpg

Do want, but only if the light kit is included and plug/play without any soldering.

Ah who am I kidding? I want that thing just to have.

What do you guys think about the new Vehicle Range?

:)

These little guys look great and would fit perfect like on Large Ship Bases. Also the issues of in-scale Falcons & Firesprays is taken care of.

:D

Squeeeee!!!!!!

1/72 scale Falcon!
