So, how do we get our hands on that ISD?
I don't know i've been trying to find the price but had no luck.

I think the SD model was just a concept piece for the Tokyo toy fair, so no details on a price or release date exist at present and there's no guarantee it will ever be released.
I was mistaken on the scale tho - it's not 1:900 it's 1:700!
That would make it around 2.3 metres long!

I have The Advanced, 2 x Tie Fighter, Vader and 2 Stormtroopers and they are excellent, easy to assemble, beautifully crafted for the price (no mold lines or assembly seems)
I've just ordered some kits from hobby link Japan - I like the way they will hold an order for you for up to 60 days so you can add to it and save on the shipping.
My only concern is if I get a really large consignment shipped over it will draw the attention of Her Majesty's Customs and Excise and I'll be stung for the import duty and VAT.
Anyone had any experience with that?
Yeah getting clobbered with import tax is a pain but it's random I got my tantive from miniature market because even with international shipping it was cheaper than anywhere in the UK and escaped notice and it wasn't a small box.

Import tax is usually small beans - just a percentage point or two - it's the 20% VAT they slap on top that's the stinger ( bloody Tories, party of low taxes my arse! :-) )
So far I've got 4 kits awaiting shipment but I was going to double up on everything next payday - that's going to be a pretty big box
Labour helped crash the economy not the cons there was no money left and right or wrong steps had to be taken would you rather be Greece?
You import stuff you take the chance.

Don't take me too seriously Hobo
Y'know, buying a few of each ship for an epically-sized game of X-wing wouldn't be that expensive if you buy them one at a time. They're only about 2.5 times the cost of a single X-wing miniature.
That's actually my plan that Im slowly working on.
I have the FineMolds 1:72 kits.
Two of each X-wings, Tie/Ln and Interceptors.
Very VERY nice kits.
I love that the ties solar panels are separate from the rest of the wing, makes them very easy to paint.
If they make a Y-Wing I'm in
They are... HobbyLink Gunpla show said so... months back.

yup - it's already available for pre-order - no pretty pics though ![]()
I'm really hoping for:
A Wing
B Wing
TIE Interceptor
TIE Bomber
Millennium Falcon
All in 1/72 so they look nice next to each other in my display cabinet.
And then some more random stuff like a Star Destroyer or SSD, an AT AT, a Lambda, Slave 1, etc. But really hoping or a bigger starfighter range.

It looks like the larger ships like Slave 1 might be coming in at 1/144 scale - hopefully there will be a 1/72 slave and Falcon later down the line:
Even if Bandai doesn't release the Millennium Falcon or Slave I in 1:72, the Finemolds MIllennium Falcon will be released by Revell pretty soon:

Also, their Slave I is pretty good and is fairly close to 1:72:

cool glad to hear they are making a Y wing and hopefully all the others as well. the "Fine molds" ones are getting scarce and expensive!!!

The rumour is that Revell USA have done a deal with Finemolds to buy their designs to sell on the US market under the "Master Series" name - so they won't be gone for good.
But by the looks of things the Bandai kits will be superior - so I'll probably hold out for the 1/72 scale Bandai Falcon and Y-Wing.
Edit - Ninja'd by Millennium Falsehood ![]()
the revel ones are NOT 1/72 scale... at least they never mention scale on their star wars kits..

Perhaps not currently - the point I was making is that they are rumoured to have done a deal with Finemolds to sell the old 1/72 Finemolds Star Wars kits under the Revell Master Series brand some time in the near future.

Well I guess I'm in now.... They got a Y-Wing for pre-order.
Now how to paint it? In the style of Dutch?, or paint it up as a scum Y-Wing?
Edited by Grave13Paint it up as Gray Squadron and pay homage to General Salm. ![]()

As if you're only going to buy one

As far as i know the Revel Kits don't have any standard scale between them. The fine molds ones do and thats why their Millennium Falcon is so expensive as its HUGE in 1/72 scale. while the revel kit is probably closer 1/144 scale. or some other odd ball scale... They might use similar "Box art" but fine molds and Revel kits are totally different. now in the 1/72 world of aircraft Revel/testers share a bunch of kits..

Right. But the part that makes me happy is that Revell has apparently bought the Finemolds molds and is intending to sell them, meaning I won't have to pay an arm and a leg to get the kit I want in the same scale as my X Wing and other starfighters.
