Butler

By fantasyBoardmember, in Cosmic Encounter

Hello,

my questions concerns the Butler and the destiny deck:

If the offense draws his or her own color, there are three options:

  • The offense may attack another player's foreign colony that is on one of his or her planets.
  • The offense may re-establish a home colony on one of his or her empty planets. This is considered to be a successful encounter.
  • The offense may discard the destiny card and draw another one.

What if the Butler is involved? If not tipped, is the Butler allowed to aim the Space Gate at one of the offense own planets (if a legal encounter can occur on that location) or has the offense the right to say he wants to discard the destiny card and draw another one without tipping the butler and without the butler interfering and locate the Space Gate?

If the offense draws his or her own color, the defense has not yet been determined. The offense gets the chance to discard the destiny card and redraw before that happens. The Butler can aim the hyperspace cone if denied a tip, but he cannot deny the offense the right to re-draw destiny when the offense's color comes up.
