Darth Vader crew on the Raider

By Pandademic, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Just goes to show I play too little epic.

So I guess no one decided to look at the actual huge ships rules. The answer is right there already.

If a huge ship suffers damage from a source that does not explicitly affect a single section, the opposing player chooses which section suffers the damage. Crippled sections cannot be chosen. [/size]

Pretty straight forward. Don't think it is broken. It is still pretty risk reward. Plus I think the whole thing is just fun and not overpowered. It would be a shame to disallow it.

We dont need to read rules we have rules forums for that :D

I like this rule it means if you want to Vader me I can make you take the damage on the section I can shoot at to kill you faster. Nice

Does Vader get to trigger on each attack the Raider makes or just once?

Vader triggers on every attack. It's why Decimator + Vader + Gunner is fairly popular, because Vader can trigger twice.

Also dat necro.

this is why in Epic, named ships are generally a nono.

Yeah he can pretty likely take out soontir without even hitting him and regen the shields back. But Soontir isnt even a threat in epic anyway since his defense really falls off after the 2nd ship fires at him, and in Epic its really easy to end up with 4-5 ships looking at you.

Thanks guys. Playing a casual game so wondering if this will be worth a go, although likely to be against alot swarm type builds so may not be worth it.

I always like reading these old threads and seeing the doom and gloom posted about card combos that never end up being used. Anyone else remember how overpowered Keyan was going to be if he could spend his stress to mod zero eyeballs? Or how about how we would never see a two attack die ship with a sensor slot because of how OP accuracy corrector would make them? ;)
