Im thinking (cos i work from home in editing/publishing) i'll take a day off and watch all the movies until my mates get back from work and then, then...

I'm going to set up an 8' by 4' 'Battle of Endor' epic battle.

Im thinking two tie advanced eight tie fighters, ten interceptors, 4 bombers, 1 shuttle

VS

4 Y wings, 8 A wings, 4 Xwings, 4 B wings, Millenium Falcon

with my custom mon calamari as an 'objective' to fight over

All I've got to do now is write up two balanced lists I reckon 600 points a side should cover all that easy and allow maxing out on upgrades to give loads of varety

I think i'll also build up the lists to have the characters in the film at the time, to Lando in the falcon etc.

Edit: while i want an 'original trilogy' game with only the 'correct and alive' crew and kit on ships I've just realised that now thats actually a fairly small proportion of the games full components.

Hmm, so far 'characterful' lists for both sides with no upgrades, crew, ordnance etc its about 500 points a side.

So 600 shoudl be about right.

That is an excellent, and possibly dangerous/deadly idea

I think with a 500 point game i'll put it down to 'large shot/double measure' for every ship destroyed!

I might need stomach pumping if it was a shot for every hit!

Actually at the battle of Endor the 181st fighter wing wasn't there. They were at the battle of Ord Biniir on the same date and their victory was heavily publicized on Coruscant to draw attention away from the destruction of the second death star.

Nope, you're mistaking Endor with Yavin. It is how Fel became famous. The 181st won a battle at the same time they lost the 1st DS. Not the 2nd DS.
