Storage question.

By Cubanboy, in Star Wars: Armada

Besides the box, mini hanger, and battleform what is everyone using for storage?

Since I'm splitting everything with my friend and my stuff is waiting on wave 1, I only have one core set's worth of rebel ships. I'm keeping everything in my girlfriend's old box of hair dye.

So far- in the Armada core set box. I found a Plano box (#2-3630-01) that is a really great size for going inside the core box. Pull the cardboard dividers out and the Plano fits inside leaving enough room for the plastic shell (which I store the ships in), and the Plano is tall enough to hold assembled squadrons standing upright.

Once my second core set gets here I'll have to squeeze things in a bit- perhaps storing some ships underneath others, and maybe finding another Plano that will fit on top of the first one. Once wave 1 arrives I'll have to do something different though.

Edit: And I just noticed that you began your post with "Besides the box..." Whoops.

right now i'm still using core set box, when the collection will start growing i'll use a feldherr bag with theyr raster foam trays as i did for all my other miniatures collections, here in europe it's probably the most cost effective choice on the market

You basically eliminated everything I use for storage.

I've got an aluminum case with some thickish pluck foam in it. Holds two core sets with enough room for most things to come. But while I suspect the MC-80 will make it in, the Imperial Star Destroyer looks just a wee bit too big.
