With all the ships that appeared in the movies out, they have to something like that eventually, to keep X-wing feel solidly in the familiar Star Wars Universe.
Just think where this game will be in 3 years. That is like 9 more expansions. And this game is awesome, people love it, I totally see FFG protecting their cash cow and letting it last that long. If we last that long I would be surprised if we don't see some new releases for TIE Bombers.
I do, however, agree with a lot of what has been said about the upcoming release and I think it will be while before we get those Bomber Aces.
In looking at the ships that have not received Aces you have Y-Wing, E-Wing, Defender, and Phantom. Probably too early for a Scum aces. The Advanced really has its ACES with the imperial huge ship, much like the X-Wing did. The Tie Bomber I think they will wait on to see how the changes in Wave 7 effect it. Using those 4 would also allow FFG to address other issues concerning ordinance as well as other issues. It is an opportunity create fixes to multiple ships with similar problems, while at the same time expanding the overall pilot base to catch up with other ships.
What the Bomber needs, As well as the Y-Wing, is the following!
Weapons Targeting System
Your ship may acquire a target lock at the beginning of the Combat phase. This would allow low pilot skill to lock on and deliver their payload, note it doesn't take an action, so you would have a focus to use on the missile or torpedoes.
I think it would be neat to have a bomber upgrade that let them 'barrage' with ordnance.
'After you perform a <missile> or <torpedo> attack, you may immediately acquire a target lock and perform a second <missile> or <torpedo> attack. If you do, receive a stress token.'
Or have a TIE shuttle upgrade that would use up one of the Torpedo slots to add a passenger slot
Imperials should get a boat pack!!! Includes a assault gunboat and missile gunboat!!! Now what should the rebels and scum get????

Next aces pack should be X-Wing and/or E-Wing. No matter which ship or both, they need a fix in the pack for both of them, and what they need most are New named E-Wings and Rogue Squadron along with the Pilots. New named pilots for the Y-Wing would also be most welcome, but i think the E-Eing needs way more help at the moment.
After that i would love to see a Defender/Tie Fighter pack. I think the Bomber gets enough attention in wave 7 and does not need anything except a real ordnance fix, not that half baked Extra Munitions thing...

Totally disagree, the bomber needs many more pilots, and bomber only upgrade.

We need scum aces with more options for starviper and scyk.
Also I'd love more love for x wings and y wings in rebels and defenders/bombers in empire.

Make it a free action, and I think that would be a pretty solidly balanced upgrade. Maybe 3 points?

This would need some restrictions and drawbacks, like stress - but has to remain cheap. Remember you still need to buy ordnance and ammo.

Why restrictions other than limiting it to TIE Bombers and Y-Wings?

Scum need aces more than anyone. I want Krassis in his yellow firespray and a PS9 Starviper!! If not, FFG better be thinking about handing the YT series over to the Scums as compensation.

Nope, you're wrong. Look up the competitive scene, look up the maths. It will tell you... Wrong, plain and simple!
Then a few Bomber pilots would not be a bad thing but i see the chances of that happening before an X-Wing and hopefully an E-Wing fix about... Slim to none. Because FFG now thinks they have fixed ordnance with Extra Munitions, which is safly not the case. Therefore they will take a while to realize that and only then there will be a Bomber release!
And the Bombers 2 named pilots are by the way great and have superb abilities for what they are supposed to do, just that ordnance sucks to a point where they become bad again.

I can't be the only one that doesn't like having mismatched paint schemes on their fighters? The blue/grey TIE thing bugs me enough, but having one grey TIE Advanced and one (blue?) Advanced is really going to bug me when my Raider arrives.
I really don't mind different paint schemes. I can use the one unique one for a character and send the generics to look like the rest.

Yea... I would like to see new pilot options for the Y-wing, Z-95 Headhinter, Tie Bomber, and maybe a few others. Two pilot options for ships we can field 4-8 of just seems restrictive.
If we don't see an X-wing Aces or something as the next ace pack, it'll be a travesty.
X-wing has enough pilots already, and a repaint.
Name the ones worth taking.
