Guardians of Eriador

By Olorin93, in Strategy and deck-building

Here's a Dúnedain/Elf deck I just compiled on paper. Haven't tried it since I'm abroad and away from the majority of my collection, but I can't wait to get into The Lost Realm when I come home in a few weeks. Any immediate suggestions? I've mostly played support decks for years as others in my group favour combat-heavy Gondor and Rohan decks, and I've decided to try some Leadership for a change. I'm also thinking of switching out Glorfindel for Elrohir, but I do love Spirit access and Arwen.

Heroes - threat 27

Aragorn (Tactics)

Halbarad (Leadership)

Glorfindel (Spirit)

Allies:

3x Gandalf (core)

2x Dúnedain Hunter

2x Son of Arnor

2x Dúnedain Watcher

2x Weather Hills Watchman

2x Warden of Annúminas

2x Northern Tracker

2x Arwen Undomiel

Attachments:

2x Rivendell Blade

2x Rohan Warhorse

2x Captain of Gondor

2x The Sword That was Broken

3x Steward of Gondor

2x Heir of Valandil

2x Celebrian’s Stone

2x Dúnedain Warning

2x Dúnedain Mark

2x Unexpected Courage

3x Light of Valinor

Events:

2x Sneak Attack

3x Ranger Summons

2x A Test of Will

2x Elrond’s Counsel

50 cards.

Out of play:

3x Ranger of the North

And I'm sure this deck will be updated when we see all that's coming in the cycle.

I can't say much of this deck since i don't have any cards from the lost realm., but can you tell something about it's strategy? I would like to know how it works ;)

The idea is that tri-sphere is viable as far as allies go with Heir of Valandil and Steward of Gondor, and Andúril and Celebrian's Stone help Aragorn with spheres (though the latter might be better to attach to Halbarad for the questing). Halbarad and Glorfindel (hopefully) do not exhaust to quest, Arwen buffs defense for herself, Halbarad or allies while Glorfindel and Aragorn get Tactics attachments and go at it, with the Warhorse readying Aragorn. With Aragorn and Rivendell Blades, Glorfindel bypass 3-5 DEF. But this is also meant to be paired with a deck with more healing and threat management.
