New Build Hep!

By devotedknight, in X-Wing

Here is my build

Colonel Jendon(26) + Fire-Control System (2) + Fleet Officer (3) + Weapons Engineer (3) + ST-321 (3) + Engine Upgrade (4)

Soontir Fel (27) Push the Limit (3) + Royal Guard Tie (0) +AutoThrusters (2) Stealth Device (3)

Academy Pilot (12)

Academy Pilot (12)

The Colonel is giving out Target Locks and Focus tokens, Soontir Fel is well Soontir Fel. He will have one Target Lock, 1 Evade and 3 Focus tokens each round.

2 Academy Pilots used for blocking, and still will benefit from the Colonel. Eventually they will be getting behind the Colonel, (the Colonel will play chicken!). And I will have the Ties to deal with that.

Opinions?

Be careful putting soontir fel on a leash, it can be easier to put guns on him if you're always trying to get him near the shuttle.

The Squad Lists subforum might be a better place for this.

As for the list, nigeltastic has a great point: the range limitation on Jendon's ability really hobbles Soontir Fel. You also have a really expensive shuttle there, especially if Soontir dies early or is out of range of Jendon's ability, and it looks like you might also have an action-economy problem: you can't boost and use Fleet Officer in the same round, so you're not getting full value out of either one.

So if I were in your position, I'd cut the shuttle back to Omicron Group Pilot + Fire Control System + Engine Upgrade. Those 14 points buy you another TIE fighter, or you can combine the three TIEs to do something else interesting with 38 points to play with. Good luck!

As the others have alluded to, the strength of the majestic albino void bison* is that it is very inexpensive for a ship with it's profile. Decking it out with tons of upgrades negates that advantage.

Also, generally speaking, you shouldn't spend more points on a force multiplier (that is, a support ship like Howlrunner, Rebel HWKs, or your shuttle build) than the things it is helping. And given Fel hates being tied down, all Jendon is supporting is 24 points of tie fighters. If you want to keep Jendon roughly the way he is (I'd still trim a few upgrades, though), I'd replace Fel with a mini-swarm of Academy Pilots. If, on the other hand, you really want Fel, I'd trim down the shuttle to fit in a third tie.
