Vassal Community

By NukeMaster, in X-Wing

I just started playing on Vassal and have been wondering a few things.

Are there Vassal norms and etiquette? I assume it would be uncouth when looking for a game to go into the room with the most observers and say, “Hey does anyone in here want to play a game?” Is there anything in general people are expected to do?

Also is there an active Vassal community outside of the program? Where would I hear about Vassal tournaments?

Vassal etiquette:

* no comments while observing, unless you're asked (at least that's what I do)

* say "set" in chat whenever you have finished your turn

* if you win the initiative you let the opponent pick a side to play on

The rest are pretty simple, be curteous, don't be a sore loser, etc.

There's an ELO system external to Vassal[0].

Team covenant is where most vassal tourneys are set up and organized. http://teamcovenant.com

Although it has some truly insane house rules going, so you may want to skip it unless you're interested in fighting against Wedge + Advanced Cloaking Device or Biggs + Combat Refit + R2-D2.
