SO someone wanted to buy me a cool book to read i could have
A: Dodged the Ultimate Star Wars book and took out boredom with a round house and uppercut aka the ALIEN: Isolation art book.
Or
B: take the Ultimate Star Wars book too the face and roll on the ground and die...
I SHOULD HAVE WENT WITH A!!!
Needless to say for the most part I found this book to be lacking in information. It almost only has information about stuff from SW ep 1-7 and the two tv shows. The main problem with this book is the claim the author makes about the information written in it. They claim that it is wonderfully detailed when in fact a lot of it is light reading, their is barely anything new in this book.
I would suggest just reading through a friends copy over buying one yourself. Its $44.00 Canadian.
So what is good about this book? It doesn't conflict with older source books. Example
*It was hinted in the IMP hand book that the Inquisitor flies the TIE Advanced V1. This book confirms this too be the case. It also confirms that elite IMP pilots were chosen too fly Interceptors, short panel TIEs exist, long necked Star Destroyers exist. Human male , Female, and aliens are in the storm core before Endor.
Hears some interesting facts you may not have know that's in this book.
* Information in book backs up information written about Tie Pilot gear in the Stele Chronicles
* Again despite what wookieepedia says only one persons lightsabre has been identified as having a plasma blade, every other type is listed as a unique energy, sith blades appear too be even more unique. To a minor degree it appears every lightsabre is a super natural lightsabre. They made a point to identify different plasma weapons listed in the book. Sabres as a whole are not one of them
*Same applies too the Death Star mk 1-2 as well as any SD armed with a SUPER LASER. The used the same force attuned crystals too create a powerful LASER composite beam.
**Don't be surprised if it added in the lore that the sith use their sorcery to alter the DS Supers crystals too add even more dark supernatural abilities like say, sucking the souls of its victims and giving their energy to said sith OR flat out also destroys the souls.
There some errors however one that sticks out most.
*The only TIEs listed in combat during Endor were Interceptors and Fighters.
**They forgot Bombers, maybe Frank Castles, Avengers, and Defenders. Possibly other TIEs as well.
Spoilers don't read any further.
It has ep 7 information, its very little information but still.
*It has pictures of the crew working during the filming and pre production of ep 7.
*Every entry has a list of appearances. I think whoever is reading this already knows what is listed as appearing in ep 7. But here is some things you wont expect to not be listed.
*X-Wings are not listed as appearing in ep 7. What you see is probably akin too a X-Wing II / X squared, the 2nd one sounds better too me.
*TIE Fighters , nor any TIEs really, are not listed as being in ep 7. So those two new TIEs are something else. TIE squared and... TIE redeemer...? I made that name up I am talking about the TIE that can fire backwards.
