Vader with Squad Leader makes a decent stand-in for Cracken in a payload squad. He only transfers one Target Lock, but it's at PS 9 and he's pretty good at fighting on his own, as well. Bombers are also tougher than Zs.

Backstabber = 16

Turn 1, Vader can do a TL himself for 2x2 auto hits, and also TL designate for the bomber. The bombers Focuses and hangs back to get the widest arc on its missiles. Backstabber does damage from inconvenient places, and Colzet farms crits.

Way to go Aaron! A fellow Saskatchewanite takes an M3A into the top 4...

It's true, but the game would have been completely different if initiative was reversed, likely with the dual IGs winning anyway.

Yep, or maybe giving away initiative he just arc dodged some attacks that could have killed him much earlier, but karma is karma

Pat's argument to that (as others have brought it up) was; If he hadn't given away the initiative, then he likely would have lost anyway.

With me moving first, he was able to position out of arcs or at R3. If I had been able to dictate the engagements, I think the game would have gone very differently.

So two of the people I played against (and lost to) at Tacoma regionals ended up being the finalists. Huh. Guess I'm not going to feel so bad about going 2-3 then.

There might be something to this. AC Vader wouldn't be useless on his own, and you could use Squad Leader to get off those Concussion Missiles to good effect.

It was a tough build to crack with a Fatty. I almost did it... You need to watch out for those nuanced HWK builds. They can really catch you off guard. I took second in a previous tournament with Biggs Dutch and Kyle in the wave 6 meta. It was amazing vs most builds, but I learned that dual aggressors has an easy time picking it apart. My two losses that day were to brobots. Incidentally I think Aaron mentioned his swiss loss was to brobots as well. Then brobots in top 4. Really intuitive build with great synergy. It was my most favorite game of the day.

He was top eight in Winnipeg with that list as well. Awesome build and great piloting.

Is there a chance not having initiative (or having higher PS) is overrated in Brobots mirror? I have been playing Brobots a bit recently and it´s somewhat nice when you can simply script your flight patterns without the risk of getting blocked (especially on S-turns).

That is also certainly an advantage. It depends on the approach angles and how the lanes end up getting set up. I'm still learning myself.

The initial approach however, strongly favors later movement if you know what you are doing.
