Looks like I can't play my friend anymore...

By Flighting Paprika, in X-Wing Battle Reports

I slaughtered my friend in a match today. Took down his Falcon and B-Wings without losing a ship. He was so demoralized that he didn't want to play a second game.

Guess I'll have to stick to Armada with him.

FWIW

I was flying Imps:

Whsiper (Fire control, Adv Cloaking, Gunner, Veteran Instincts)

Howlrunner

3x Academy Ties

He was flying Rebels:

Falcon (Luke....and some other slop)

Ten Numb

Blue Squadron

He doesn't play often...I hadn't played in a while but had been checking out some championship games on youtube.

If I only could have taken a snapshot of the look on his face when I got my first shot off with Whisper on the Falcon. "And now I get a target lock, cloak and focus token to go with the evade from before."

You seem to have taken a lot of delight in "slaughtering" your friend. Enough so that you felt the need to brag about it here. Small wonder he declined another game.

Buzzsaw Whisper against someone who doesnt play often.

Way to encourage more play.

Holy jumping to conclusions.

1) I played my friend who bought the game first and got me started.

2) I hadn't played a game in about 2 weeks and in the few years I've had it have played fewer than 10 games.

3) I had the luck of the dice and he didn't

Glad we're all here to jump out judge. "Way to encourage people to post in this forum!"

Perhaps it is in the way you presented it. Here in the battle report section normally people outline how games went, detailing the action. This can include asking questions about doing things better or what others would do in the situation.

So when you come in here and present that your friend who got you into the game no longer wants to play it because of how badly you beat him, and you wish you had a pic of his face when you did the things you did rather than presenting the game, or asking how you could encourage him back, like switching sides for a replay or something it comes off poorly.

I wish you and your friend more and better games in the future. And perhaps next time you post here you tell us something more than you're so awesome your friend doesn't want to play anymore.

Fly Casual.

so how many games does your friend usually play?

man when i get slaughtered it just makes me want to play again and to figure out WHY i got slaughtered. sometimes its just dumb luck. more often then not its dumb flying/tactics on my part...

Were you using the new Phantom rules or the old Phantom rules?
