Blocking a hallway with figures

By CarelvanRenen, in Imperial Assault Rules Questions

Hello.

A question about movement.

I know the rule for movement is to not end in the same space as another figure, and that moving through enemy figure space adds 1 movement penalty per space.

So, if I wanted to block access to some objective behind my heroes, with said heroes, especially in a 2 space wide passage, having 2 heroes standing abreast would not stop an enemy figure from moving straight through?

This seems to make defending an objective very hard, since in this game you can move (2x in one activation) almost further than most characters can shoot...

Thanks for any help.

No- they would not necessarily block the passage. If you had 9 figures in a 3x3 grid with the objective in the center, however, you would force your opponent to fight through you.

You're correct. Its very tough to stop people walking through your ranks. However sometimes that 1 mp can be the difference between reaching an objective or not, and on timed missions every turn matters.

You could place the figures directly in front of the object so an enemy couldn't be adjacent to it and interact with it.

Keep in mind - a crowd of your troops falls prone to blast/cleave attacks (havoc shot)
