Team Epic

And you're on Team Epic, and you're on Team epic...

So Team Epic is 2v2, with each player having 200 points to play with. It just occurred to me that one team could be Imperials and Scum, and the other could be Rebels and Rebels.

It totally makes sense to me that the Empire might hire extra bodies for an assault. I wonder what synergies there are in that sort of scenario?

From the Epic tournament rules, Page 3:

"Each team may choose to field either a Rebel, an Imperial, or a Scum & Villainy squad, as tournament seeding ignores the player’s faction. Both members of each team must field the same faction; therefore each team will consist of either 2 Rebel squads or 2 Imperial squads. A team cannot field two or more cards that share the same unique name."

So, fielding an Epic team of a mixed faction would not be allowed under the rules. That being said, you could do it just for fun.

Yeah, that's the tournament rules. But I've got people coming over for a fun match tonight. :)

Team epic imo is the most fun format of x wing. I'd love if there were team epic tournaments or at the very least doubles tournaments.

So organize one at your FLGS or at a gaming convention. Make it "casual" the first time or make sure at least one other person is willing to co-TO with you so you get a chance to play.

IMO, multi-player is the best way to play X-wing (or just about any wargame). 1 v 1 is better than solo play (usually) but still only involves one other person. The more... the merrier!

The only problem I see with a team epic tournament is that it would take forever. 5 rounds of swiss at (I don't actually know how long the official epic time frame is) 2 hours a round plus a cut to top?? would be 2 days worth I would have to guess.
