I initially came up with this as a gimmick list, but it actually works insanely well. Get the PL into range 2 with a target lock and it's four stress tokens, 3 on every r2 shot after that. This is enough to effectively cripple your target. Given that you know where and how they'll be most likely flying after that (no K turns, no hard turns, depending on the target) you can easily have backstabber maintain an out of arc position on the stressed ship to rack up the hits.
Against a swarm it wouldn't do so well, but against the 2 ship builds everyone seems to be excited about, it really shuts them down. Usually the stressimator lives for at least 2-3 combat rounds which is enough to cripple the opposing fleet for 3-4 turns to come, and the tie fighters can use their maneuverability to stay out of arc and pot shot them to death, well after the patrol leader has bitten the dust.
I'm 2-0 with it against pretty solid lists. Maybe it was just a bad day for my opponents, but I want to keep trying.
