Hand-to-hand combat

So, just finished another game... loving it.

One thing i noticed in the rules which seemed strange is that any character with a fist icon in their abilities bar is meant to be considered as having a hand-to-hand weapon. This seemed sort of pointless with the basic game as every character has it, so we just ignored this rule and played as the character with no hand-to-hand weapon must use his/her lowest combat rating.

Any thoughts on this??? Is this an oddity of the english rules perhaps, or something that only makes sense with the expansions when there is a greater variety of characters???

The fist means you have the HtH skill , and may use a HtH weapon. In essence, you played correctly.

I think this is covered in the FAQ for the game.

HTH skill let you attack with melee

HTH weapon let you use current combat value for defend and attack in Melee

Supernatural Str let you use your hightest combat value when attack in melee

Question can i attck with melee to character on another path ?

this happen when they block the door to their room (adjectant but not on same path.)

or i must bull rush only ?

my friend just ask me

"How the hell my union can fight your Reich ?"

i almost agree with him with Karl / Melee trooper block the door and let Patmos amulet +

Doom keep annoy him he can't do anything

if he bull rush in (and stay in that room cuz he can't attack anymore)

melee fight against Reich is suicide

Range trooper + mad minute is really hurt

and the worst thing is Sha-na-ra (that's 90 % one hit kill union hero)

and if he manage to get in and throw smoke grenade

Patmos amulet + Sha na ra still work

and Karl walk to other path and shoot doom will be more terrible thing

The Union have a difficult time against the reich on the mansion board.

Here are tips that worked for me

- try to get into or close to the reich entry area first - Smoke It!

- Smoke is your friend, it hurts the Reich more than you

- consider arming your troops with close combat weapons (pistols) rather than flashguns, you might leave one so armed

- If the Reich is hiding behind doors, use grenades and Tala's dynamite to give them shock rolls and automatic wounds

- Only Bull rush as the last action of a turn - with the intention of grabbing the initiative next turn

- concentrate your attention on the most dangerous enemies - Heizinger and 'Mr Doom'

- Smoke Is Your Friend!

Believe me the Reich can be beaten - I manage it on a regular basis
