I am looking at the Raider but I know nothing about epic play, I have never seen any an epic ships instructions, I have a few questions.
Is it played in a bigger game field?

What is the avarage game time increase? Wouldn't the player be a little bored flying a ship that has such a poor dial?

Is it played in a bigger game field? 6x3 Play Space. 12 Asteroids placed 2 at a time, Range 1 from each other when placed but outside of Range 1-2 of any other asteroids or edges of the battlefield.
How many points? 300 per person if 1 on 1. If 2 on 2, 200 points per player.
What is the avarage game time increase? I believe the tournament rounds are sat at 180 minutes, so 3 hours.
Wouldn't the player be a little bored flying a ship that has such a poor dial? I'm not entirely sure what ship you are referring to. From what I've read on the forums, the Epic Format actually increases the viability of a lot of different ships and upgrades. Namely, Ordnance shines against the Huge ships.

Average game is 3-4 hours I would say. Definitely a bigger event than a throwdown dog fight
The epic ships have energy management rules that keep them fun to play. You have to choose between moving fast, recharging shields, doing special support abilities and powering your guns.

I'm getting the Raider and have little to no interest in Epic, however, if FFG continues to make cool ships for Epic, I would not be adverse to having a couple of epic ships to have a battle with two or more epic ships involved.

I don't think you can do that in a tournament, just as a note.
I like how the 100 point game is like a game of MTG. You and your friend can just spend about an hour and play a fun satisfying game. I also like how Epic makes the game into an all-afternoon event like 40k or Twilight Imperium. It's especially great when you have multiple people over and you all want to play at once.

That is, if you have a teammate on about the same skill level as you. Otherwise you might feel it necessary to go all alpha gamer, or your teammate might.
I can't stand team games myself. The best they seem to get is to feel like 2 smaller games that happen to be being played in the same space, with maybe some crossover at the end once one player has been eliminated.
It's great for teams. Definitely helps speed things up when you're only planning 150 points of maneuvers

The Imperials brought bombers, shuttles or decimators, if that didn't happen.
Not at all, especially with the agi bonus at range change.
I am very excited to get into an Epic game. Of course, I'm doubly excited to purchase the Corvette and Raider.
I worry that an epic game will drag too long for the people that play here, it seems they prefer to play multiple games back to back over a long single game.

Once Rebels aren't the only faction with Epic ships, I hope this will be the case.
