Because these guys are gonna be huge, both in terms of size on the table and list real estate. How many are people thinking about? I figure the Rebs will eventually get the Liberty (winged MC) style MC cruiser and that will make for a nice mix should I need two huge ships. But for the Imperials the ISD seems the ceiling in terms of size and recognition. So maybe 2? As for the Rebels, do we ever see more than one MC80 type together? I sorta feel like there should only be one but they're so narrow it almost feels lacking...
ISD & MC80: How many?
Won't know until the point costs come out but I'm thinking at least one of each. They can act as flagships and task-force-centers to build the rest of the fleet around.
Taking two means you're dropping your attacks down to 4 total, but if you use the points for that second ship on an escort force of smaller ships it means going up to around six attacks.
Looking at the way the stats and points scale up on the existing ships i wouldn't be surprised if it is possible to fit three of the large class ships into a list.
Don't know if this will be a good idea or not but in sure someone will do it if it can be done!
The MC80 looks so dang small compared to the ISD, it just doesn't have the bulk. I gotta imagine it's priced lower. But it also makes me wonder if the Rebels can field a couple MC larges in their battles against ISDs.
Anybody else also hope they also vary the height on the stands for some ships, especially the larges? With the way the ISD extends past the base, having differently scaled ships would make for some dynamic shots and allow for ships to get closer together.
For the purposes of over costed or larger scale games, I have planned on two of each. I don't believe I have the space to sustain the truly massive 1k+ point games that some people have mentioned, so I'm more looking for a specific feel and letting the points sort themselves out while building the game.
I'm mostly trying to facilitate the desire to have a battlegroup of 2 Imperials and 3 Victories with a little support vs. whatever I can muster from the Rebellion equal in points.
But for legitimate competitive play, I think Norse is probably correct in that the most well-rounded fleets will likely only fly a single large-sized ship... subject to actual ship costs, of course.
It's going to be hard to resist two ISDs, because they look so cool and iconic, a pair sounds fun to play with, and because it would let you annoyingly and repeatedly quote "Star Destroyers, two of them, they're headed right for us."
The MC80 is harder to have two of, even if just going by stats it looked like a good idea. The MC80 coming is Home One. Every Mon Calamari cruiser is supposed to be completely unique in appearance, and I don't think I could bring myself to have two copies of the most iconic one, even if I tried to do a different paint job on one. I'd much rather wait for them to release the winged style Mon Calamari and hopefully others, so my Rebel fleet options will always look haphazard and improvised.
One of each to start, possibly a second ISD because COOL! Of course, I'm only getting one of each, well most, so that's no big surprise.
Will probably only need 1 for most touny games unless you play in bigger fluffier games. Any more in regular tourny games and you risk losing on senarios.
I could see a Tector coming out at the same time as the winged MC80
I'm planning on one of each. I imagine future waves will have other large ships, and I would probably want to diversify my fleet.
I really want to get 2 ISDs, but if I learned a lesson from X-Wing, it was don't buy too many of the early waves. I'd love to run my 4 X-wings, or my 5 Y-Wings but they just don't compare to the newer ships.
Probably 3-4 ISD and 2-3 mc-80s
2 of each. More if they ever hit the holiday sale.
One of each. I'd have to play the game a ton before I could justify the cost of more than that.
I'm probably going to stick with one of each to start off with. I might pick up a second ISD at a later stage but I'm trying not to go totaly mad at the moment in regards to Armarda.
1 to 2 of each large ship
2 to 3 of each medium ship
3 to 4 of each small ship
2 to 4 of each squadron pack
To depends on how much I like them, and of it makes sense, to play a few at once.
For the ISD and the MC 80 I'm going with two of each, because I Love the look, and I want a lot of the iconic ships from the movies.
Initially, I think just one of each. After that, I want to wait a few waves for varients or resculpts. A winged Mon Cal or an ISD with different upgrade cards or something. If that doesnt happen, then a second of each one.
I'm going to go with one of each. If it looks like fielding two Star Destroyers is a feasible thing to do then maybe another one down the road. Like a few others, I'm not really keen to have two MC80's in one list though. It's just too iconic.
I want whole Vader's Death Squadron!!!! Muhahahahahhaa!!!
But actually I think I will buy 2 ISD
.

What does the Tector even look like?
I don't know if it would be feasible for table realestate but am I the only one who jump at the chance for the Executor? You can have 2 ISD's, I want the big mama with as many ties as I could get around it. It would be a pain to transport but worth it for the awe value of that giant behemoth rolling over rebel scum. Again, tables only being so big it might not be physically possible but I would drop real money on a good SSD model.

Exact same plan with me.

I'd rather prefer Allegiance-class battlecruiser. IMO this is one of the most beautiful ships in EU and not 14134254653656563 km lenght
. Bellator-class Dreadhnought is also nice.

I'm just getting one of each for now until we know point totals and how they will fit into a 400 point build.

up-armored ISD, no hangar (read: low/no squadron value) and more protected reactor
