What to spend my money on?

Hi all

Looking for some advice here. I've been playing X-Wing for about 6 months now after an 18 year hiatus from war games. I really enjoy X-Wing and play with friends and at the local club but want to start trying my hand at other games. I really wanted to try out a skirmish level game and large scale space warfare game. Obviously FFG has Armada and Imperial Assault which are tempting but also really like the minis for Batman, Infinity and Firestorm.

My question is this. Out of the above game systems; which have you guys tried and found the most enjoyable? Best value for money? Least horrible rule systems?

Armada is incredible. I've recently invested in Firestorm: Armada and Warzone: Ressurection, and frankly neither 't have the playerbase, theorycrafting, depth, customisation or low play times. Armada is akin to what I always wanted X-Wing to be; mass strategy. If you've ever played RTS games on your PC, like Command and Conquer, then Armada is definitely for you!

I've only had one game of Armada so far, using the Learn to Play list. Was quite fun. I'm not amazed yet, but I expect I will utterly love it when I play properly, everyone else seems to!

Imperial Assault I've played a few games of campaign (as Empire), which I enjoyed, and two skirmish games, which I loved despite getting my arse utterly kicked.

So for me so far I've had more fun with IA, but I kinda think I'll prefer Armada when I get into it, I certainly prefer the Armada minis.

Star Wars Armada is new born child. There are no Mon.Calamari Cruisers or ISD yet. Infinity second ed. is a superb game, and the new basic/ introductory box is an excelent product 15 minis and self playable. Give it a try !!!

I will purchase Armada in 2016.
