Historical reenactments

By cruiser2710, in Star Wars: Armada

I know this may be a bit of a stretch but anyone here tired or ever thought of historical reenactments?

Like for example in Sink the Bismarck, it can be 1 ISD as Bismarck while 2 MC80 as Nelson and Duke of York and Neb B and CR90 as their consorts?

Or Operation Cerebus? 2 ISD as Scharnhorst and Gneisenau, 1 VSD as Prinz Eugen, Raider class as the Z class destroyers and a ton of TIE Fi and In as their aircover while the Rebels are the British with their planes and some CR90 to represent the few ships that were sent to intercept the fleeing German fleet?

I actually have this cool idea once wave 2 comes out. Pool all my small ships around MC80 or ISD while my sister uses nothing but the plane pool... And recreate Operation Ten-go

How about recreating some historical Star Wars battles as well? Could be a lot of fun once the next few waves come out.

First one that comes to mind is Hoth Evacuation... I really do hope that they release the GR transports as expansion...

Opens up more possibilities and already got few ideas involving the GR transports

Or do a massive game of The Battle of Endor, where the battle is waged over three tables, one for armada, one for the destruction of the death star using x - wing and one where the rebels try to destroy the shield generator with Imperial Assault.

This would be epic!

Why don't you make historical reenactments with wwii ship models using Micronaut rules?

There were no capital ship battles in ORIGINAL star wars with a notable exception of Battle of Endor. You have to choose from EU ones. Like the one when new jedi order guys force-pushed entire Imperial Remanent fleet out of the orbit of Yavin IV. Yep, EU sucks. And Anderson should die.

A friend of mine participated in reenactment of Operation Market Garden using Flames of War rules and minies. He and his wargaming clubmates rented a hotel with conference room and played for 2 days. They had a good time.

First thing anyone ever saw in Star Wars (after the opening crawl, of course) was a capital ship battle. Sure, a completely one-sided and brief capital ship battle, but a capital ship battle nonetheless.

Off hand... The only reenactment I can think off right now with 1 core set is Battle of River Plate

Yes, technically that was a capital ship battle, you're right. I haven't counted that because It was a baby seal vs. polar bear kind of fight.

Then, when the Force and Destiny book comes out, you could add a fourth table with two people playing out Luke and Vader's duel.

You know it! Then the Battle of Endor day event could commence!

Just did a Battle of River Plate reenactment with my sister. I'm not going to delve on the upgrade cards used but just gonna talk about the game itself.

Game was divided to 2 parts, 1st part consists of 6 rounds and this's the battle itself. VSD and Tarkin as Graf Spee and Langsdorf while NebB and CR 90 as Ajax and Execter respectively and Mon Mothama as Henry Harwood.

For the 6 round battle, NebB took the entire weight of the fire and was destroyed. VSD lost all shields and got 7 damage. After the 6th round, it was the run to Montevideo.

VSD managed to do hull repairs twice and popped full salvos into the CR90 but alas, the fortunes of war were on the side of the Allies.... CR90 pumped in 4 dice into VSD sinking the scourge of the South Atlantic
