Historical reenactments

I know this may be a bit of a stretch but anyone here tired or ever thought of historical reenactments?

Like for example in Sink the Bismarck, it can be 1 ISD as Bismarck while 2 MC80 as Nelson and Duke of York and Neb B and CR90 as their consorts?

Or Operation Cerebus? 2 ISD as Scharnhorst and Gneisenau, 1 VSD as Prinz Eugen, Raider class as the Z class destroyers and a ton of TIE Fi and In as their aircover while the Rebels are the British with their planes and some CR90 to represent the few ships that were sent to intercept the fleeing German fleet?

I actually have this cool idea once wave 2 comes out. Pool all my small ships around MC80 or ISD while my sister uses nothing but the plane pool... And recreate Operation Ten-go

I recall me playing a Bismarck scenario with BFG models/rules.

Worked very well. I see no reason why such a scenario could not or would not work in this game system.

The Bismarck chase would be much more interesting than the sinking, I think. Fleet Ambush with the Bismarck and Prinz Eugen as Imperial -class; the former loaded down with upgrades and the latter pretty bare (I know the Prinz is smaller, but a Vic can't keep up with an Imp ). The Hood and Prince of Wales would be AAFs deployed in the ambush zone, with the Prince carrying more upgrades to show the difference. Then throw in a handful of Nebulon-B Escorts for the pursuing cruisers and destroyers (deployed normally) and Y-Wing squadrons for the Ark Royal 's birds, and it should be around 400 points apiece.

Now I really want to do this...

Great idea. Scenario based games alone or as part of a larger campaign are lots of fun. I think you may have sparked some ideas.

With all the star wars mini games u can recreate anything from a commando raid to well most of the pacific campaign if u really wanted :)
