New Official Timeline

By Lancer999, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

Has there been an update as to what the timeline is for the 6 soon to be 7 movies??

It has been assumed that the time between Ep 3 & 4 is about 18-20yrs.

However w/ the new episode of Rebels coming out, the Clone Trooper "Rex" is an old man, and couldnt be that old. So how old are the Clones in Ep 2 & 3??

How much time has passed between Episode 2 & 3?

I know it was about 10yrs btw Ep 1 & 2, but even THAT doesnt make sense, because Anakin cannot be younger than 25, but if he was 9 when Ep 1 came out and Lucas said he was 20 in Ep 2, that would make sense a little. However, if you look at the age of "Obi-Wan" in Ep 3 & 4 and then the age that Anakin looks like after Ep 5 which is say about late 50s, the math doesnt add up.

So what is the official timeline??!!! MY BRAIN DOESNT WANT TO HURT ANYMORE!!

There isn't one........take some Excedrin.

It was mentioned in the prequels and in The Clone Wars that clones age at an accelerated pace. That could explain Rex's age.

Revenge of the Sith is set 19 years before A New Hope.

Attack of the Clones is set 3 years prior to that.

The Phantom Menace is set 10 years before that.

Anaknin Skywalker was 9 in TPM, 19 in AotC, and 22 in RotS. This means that Darth Vader was as young as 41 in ANH and died at around the age of 45-46 above Endor.

According to Legends, Obi-Wan Kenobi was born 57 years before the events in Episode IV (and aged 57 when he died). This would make him about 16 years older than Anakin (being 25 when they first met), which is believable.

As Simon Fix explained, Clones age at an accelerated rate as established in Episode II, so this would account for the apparent age of the clones less than 2 decades after the Clone Wars.

There's no change to the official timeline! Just some assumptions that need checking. Try starting at http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Star_Wars:_Episode_IV_A_New_Hope and go from there!

Didnt they say that it was orig. 1 yr btw Ep 2 & 3?? Also wouldnt Rex & Co. not want to help Jedi because of Order 66?? Or am I getting ahead of myself before the episode comes out??

In the Republic Commandos series of books it was brought out that the clones aged at twice the rate of normal humans. Rebels takes place 15 years after the events of Episode 3. For Rex, Wolfe and the unnamed clone (probably Echo) seen in the season 2 trailer, that would be 30 years, making them in their late 50's/early 60's age wise. And as for Rex not following order 66, there's a TCW season 6 arc involving Fives finding out about the biotech in their heads that controls the clones.

Once Rex, or any other clone, disobeyed Order 66 they would have been treated as a traitor just like the Jedi and treated accordingly. What's gong to be interesting is how Kanan and Rex will get along.

Another question...When was the 2nd Death Star started?? I mean it took what 20yrs to finish the 1st DS, so when did they start the 2nd? Did they do the old USA way of thinking? "Why have 1 when you can have 2 at twice the price."? or did they start it after DS1 was destroyed? IF that was the case then how did they rush that one to be operational within 4yrs???!!! I mean it was "Bigger, Stronger, Faster" and it was ready to run in less than 5yrs??!!

Ummm OUCH!!

What I'm wonder is did Rex disobey Order 66, or did he carry it out against his will because of the chip, as per TCW episode with Fives? Could the clone troopers even have the ability to resist the order? They were obviously programmed to be rather fatalistic when it came to their own survival and safety. I would think that this would make them more susceptible to the effects of the Order 66 chip.

One possibility I've thought of is that Rex's target for Order 66 was, in fact, Ahsoka. But as she had left the Jedi order by the time it was implemented, maybe the chip's influence didn't have any effect on him..

In the Novel Tarkin (which is about 5 years after RotS), It really is not a major point in the book, but through the various conversations we learn that they are still developing the different Systems for the Death Star as they are Constructing it.

*Spoiler At the End of the Novel Tarkin conducts a test on its propulsion systems and moves the Death Star out of Orbit.

So it is conceivable that the 2nd Death Star was started shortly after completion of the 1st one and the time frame for construction would be significantly shortened compared to the first one.

2nd DS was a long ways off from completed as well. Didn't have it's own shields. Probably at least 1/3 still needed to be built. 'Operational' typically means 'just barely' in military parlance.

Operational in the case of the Death Star II basically meant

it could rotate, aim, and shoot nothing more.

well, from an engineering perspective, if u have solved the problems of building a giant station once, u can build a second giant station quite fast, even if its larger and modified. For example u have all the Factories Building thse giant parts and so on

The gun works! The toilets. . . not so much. And most of the crew have nowhere to sleep. And there's this giant pit right by the throne room. But the gun works! Sir, should we maybe at least cover that big pit? The emperor isn't-shutting up, sir.

Just one edit for my post. Turns out that Dave Filoni did reveal the name of the third clone at SWC. It's Gregor and, from the clip they showed of the clones "fishing" from the AT-PT, Gregor's mental state is, shall we say, not all there. He's basically a crazy old coot.

Also add in the Stress of War for a few years and that makes their accelerated growth even after.
