Help tweak a Firespray

Hello again fellow wing commanders. Played a game last night with my usual scum list and I am in need of some help. My Firespray (Kath+ gunner + HLC) left much to be desired as far as offense. In fact by round 7 when we decided to call it, gunner let me re-roll nothing. Not quite happy with the HLC either. Love the number of dice but...

So, I hVe the core set and at least one of every scum ship and Most wanted for upgrades. I also have a TIE interceptor and an X-wing expansion to work upgrades from.

Pre game I was looking at calculation, mangler and.... I don't know what else, maybe recon spec or saboteur?

I'm not set on Kath either. I like Boba and the Merc too

HLC is good on kath, but you will likely fire more often out the back arc. Its nice to have though for one-shotting 3 health ships at range 3 on the first turn. I strongly recommend K4 droid on Kath instead of Gunner. Also engine upgrade if you have the points for it. K4 also meshes well with Push the Limit, which is pretty good on Kath if you have the engine upgrade.

My favourite Scum Kath kit is this:

VI,HLC,K4 and EU

Drop the EU if you want to run the 2 Y-wings(Thugs+ICT+R4+BTL Title)

I run her with 2 Cartel Spacers with title and hlc for 99 points(with EU).

I'm running both Scum Kath and Boba........... both get EU/VI/Gunner/Dampeners

Thanks guys. I run her with a warthog Y wing (title + r4 agromech + ion cannon turret) and 2 naked Binayre pirates. Those ships perform just fine or at least as expected.

I guess I'm just trying to nail down some decent firepower on the Firespray. I think I will try out the mangler on it next time

Mangler is great but it doesn't add much to a Firespray in my opinion, especially Kath. The cannon wants to be at range 3 to maximize it's bonuses but the big ship is tricky to keep out of the fray.

With Kath, I'd run one of two options.

Kath: EU, K4, PTL

or

Kath: Opportunist, K4 with Palob escort

HLC just seems like a lot of points to spend if you have a natural 4 dice attack out the back.

I feel that the mangler on boba does not add enough oomph for 4 pts. I'd rather have engine upgrade or beef up Torkil's survivability.

I like running Kath with predator, inertial dampeners, intelligence agents and EU.

I use her with two binayre and a hired gun with btla4 + ion, bombload + proximity mines, and unhinged astromech.

Finally used Scum Kath for the first time the other day. Kept it simple with Predator, Recon Specialist and Inertial Dampeners. Fly towards the opponent, bank a bit (still shoot from the front), then do a sharp turn, and from that moment onwards keep shooting from your rear, as they follow you. 4 (or 5 at range 1) dice with a guaranteed re-roll (or 2, against low PS ships) and focus (while having another for defence) is pretty devastating. Dampeners can help close the gap to get more range 1 shots, have ships bump into you or for general purposes. And all that for the price of just the HLC.

All that you say is true, except engine upgrade on Kath can be clutch. If you can make room in a list for it, I don't think you'd regret it.

She was a beast once she was shooting out of her rear arc.

Correct. But what's nice on the firespray is that it works at range 2 in either front or back arc

Thoughts on mangler, predator and tactician together on Kath or Boba (Scum versions). Possibly adding a seismic charge or proximity mine since my regular opponent seems to like to cluster around me.
