I should know the answer to this simple question.

Darth Vader Crew vs stealth device

Player 1attacks. And misses against soontir. Activates Vader, soontir takes damage. (That's the simplified version)

Soontir has a stealth device. Does he lose the stealth device after taking damage from Vader?

Edited by Bloodstripe Baron

Nope. Was not hit by an attack. One of the best ways to use Vader!

Agree with Bilisknir,

Vader does not Hit the target, only causes damage.

"Hit by an attack" has a specific meaning: after both attack and defense dice have been rolled and modified, you compare them and use [evade] results to cancel [boom] and [kaboom] results. If there are any uncanceled [boom] or [kaboom] results left, the defender was hit by the attack.

Nice that's what I though- the guy I was playing didn't think so.

Vader does not only "not hit". His ability is not an attack!

It may seem strange because getting 'hit' removes the Stealth Device but it is entirely possible for a ship to be destroyed while still holding on to the SD. This would be done by suffering damage from thing like Vader, running into asteroids, getting caught by Bombs or even the splash damage from other weapons. A ship could also die by suffering the die results from another ship via things like DtF or Xizor. It may not be frequent but it can happen.
