What is a good, solid ship in 150 points?

https://community.fantasyflightgames.com/index.php?/topic/173912-150pts-line-squadron/

Is it the X-wing? I think that each having 5 health guarded with 2 agility dice is worth it, and I kinda want to use them becuase, to be honest, they havent seen play recently.

I have never used Wedge, Porkins, or Biggs, and my original list with those three became too expensive. So I just have Biggs. Is he worth it? I have never taken him, because I don't like it when ships are just designed to die. (maybe that's just me)

I had R5-D8 in their, same with the P9, but eventually I had to scuttle those for points.

Hobbie and Dutch were going to use R3A2 and R7T1 respectively, but they both were dropped when I decided to try to thin the list down to 150 points.

Can 5 ships handle 150 points? I am pretty sure that my opponent will be using a Decimator and a Phantom, should I bring a backup list incase this proves to be ineffective?

We play casually, and will proxy any card. Example, we used autothrusters from the day they were spoiled, and another friend has a few printed out raider cards.

Generally the same ships that are good in 100 point games. Splash damage is worth a little more, although probably not quite worth making a list out of unless you happen to know that you will be against a swarm.

Personally, if I know my opponent I'll consider what I think he's going to bring. When my friends and I go at it with such high points we tend not to bring that many extra ships, but the ships we do bring are loaded with upgrades.

Do you have two Y- Wings? Bring them both, each with an Astromech, two Proton Torpedoes, an Elite upgrade if they can swing it, and throw a modification on each one (Shield, Hull, or Engine upgrades are all nice additions). Same thing with X- Wings. Bring a Falcon and stuff it full of stuff.

Sure people are going to say two Protons on a Y- Wing is useless, but that's not the point. I'm outfitting them with all the toys, whether they can use them or not. Because, it's cool. :D

Sometimes it's fine to bring a sleek fleet with only just what it needs. Sometimes it's awesome to bring the boys out with all their toys.

150 points is where you can see the dreaded "All the Iggy" squads. :D

Sure they won't have much of anything in the way of upgrades on them, but the look on his face when he sees four Aggressors coming at him will be worth it. Some of the best games I've had have been at large point sizes.

Not in an Escalation 150.

You see, it's actually a [[[[60] 90] 120] 150] game, and you cannot have only one ship in the first round.

Having 5 ships, 4 of which are IG-88s, requires a minimum of 156 points, plus cannons for 88B to have an effect.

Running 3 88s and a z-95 only costs 120, and so looks do-able by the 3rd round, but you'd need to run them all naked, and start the first round at a 12 point defecit vs your opponent.

Not exactly good risk management.
