Hounds' tooth updated!

By PewPewPew, in X-Wing

Exactly what is the color scheme for the pup? I seem to be finding like three different ones...

on one hand, you don't want to bloat the price of the Hound's Tooth expansion since not everyone is going to want to run the pup

Agreed, but I think I'd be happier if they just included the Z and gone to $45, which would then feel slightly more justified over the excuse of "well, it's a little bigger than a big ship, so..." that we got for the Decimator. I mean, the IG-2000 was smaller than other big ships, and I didn't see them knock that one down a few bucks to compensate.

Anyway, I'm not trying to complain, just stating my preference. I think this is one of those situations where neither solution is ideal, and they had to pick one. I'll bet there was a whole meeting devoted to debating this. :P

I'm feeling that 3x tactician on the YV-666 will be incredible. I'll call it stress beast (666).

I'm sure this ship flies about like the space cow but the 180 arc will pair nicely with tactician. There also appears to be an unspoiled card called "maneuvering fin".

It looks like the Ion P___ card could be anti pursuit lasers but add an ion token instead of a damage.

Possibly for reasons other than the fact that you have 3 Tacticians on one ship. This thing doesn't just have one 180 firing arc, remember; it has three entirely separate arcs .If you're allowed to choose which one you want to fire out of for a given shot, then you could cherry pick the range you shoot at it and potentially trigger Tactician more reliably than other ships could (ie. it is entirely possible that a ship might be range 1 in one arc, but range 2 in the one beside it).

That will be interesting.

 As shall I. You may have just named the first Wave 7 list, my friend.

interesting that unless they just didn't include it. The Hounds Tooth doesn't come with the Z-95 model you need to use the Nash Pup... Perhaps with Wave 7 FFG is changing what seems to be their policy with X-Wing at least and not including everything you may need.

The article actually mentions that you will need a miniature from another expansion to use it.

I mean there is a pattern of more package cross dependency than before.

Before wave 5 everything that came in an expansion pack could be used with that model. Sure upgrades you may want could be in another expansion pack but each upgrade could be equipped to the model right out of the pack.

Wave 7 brought in packs that required additional expansion packs in order to use all the upgrades that came with it. With the most wanted pack it was more forgivable because it was a conversion for a lot of already existing models, however with the IG-2000 a big $30 pack ship you needed 2 of them in order to make effective use of the title.

Of course everything needs the core set for expansions and that is okay. However Wave 7 and now 8 have confirmed you not only require core set with this expansion but other expansions as well.

It's not a thoroughly unreasonable expectation that most people who play Scum would own Most Wanted anyways. Would this be an issue if a ship came with a pilot card and tile for an X-Wing, since you need the core set to play?

The 'z95 escape craft' idea is cool but totally shoots the 'small and large ships are 1/270' scale argument out of the water.

Unless the pup is flat packed inside there....

Hound should ought to have been a small HUGE ship... and we all know it.

Oh wells...

I like Stress Boss (666) better. Boss -> Bossk. Get it?

Actually I know some Scum players who don't have Most Wanted. 2 Agressors and 2 Star Vipers and maybe 2 MA-3 Scyks and they are happy with those.

I don't doubt it, though I did say 'most.'

I'm a little confused by this. You can pick which ship you want to shoot at even if it's just one arc too, you dont have to shoot at a Range 1 target if you dont want to.

****....i thought the small base was a tiny Huge, the huge was a big large, and the large was a medium smallhuge.

Crap!!!

I just realized. The HT is pretty tall ship, and those fins make it very wide too. This model is going to be a royal pain to store, it's not going to fit in anything.

we probably should focus on this issue of fitting the hound in a case before revisiting the issue of how a Z-95 can fit in the hound :P

It seems IKEA is a new stockist for all things X-Wing.

Yes, but (failing FFG changing the way auxiliary arcs work or making this something else) with this thing there could potentially be a situation where a ship would be at range 1 if you shot at it from the primary arc, but the same ship would be at range 2 if you shot it from one of the auxiliary arcs (or vice-versa). That would have implications on cards like Tactician if you're allowed to choose which arc you fire from.

And the most recent FAQ addressed how to handle this (for turrets, at least).

This is not a turret. It's a ship with three (as far as we know) entirely separate firing arcs. FFG could make it work the same way, of course, which would probably be the ideal solution. But the ruling doesn't necessarily apply. In fact, all of the mentions in the FAQ specifically call out turret weapons.

This will be interesting.

Kinda trouble makers... ain't cha's?!

:lol::D:P

The thing with the hounds tooth is that when it was used in the clone wars, it was actually 20 meters shorter then ealier(later?) adaptations. Thus the stats of the most recent publification were given, although inaccurate from the legends perspective.

I look at it as the hounds tooth is closer to scale with the blockade runner than the scale of the X-wing

I assumed you had to go from closest arc. No arc selection shinanigans. FAQ will likely cover this in future.

Why isn't lambda with 2x tactician a thing? Think I've heard if it but not often. If you follow Theorist's law and put EU on it, it's limited dial is greatly helped.
