Hounds' tooth updated!

By PewPewPew, in X-Wing

So they updated the image of the hounds tooth on the reveal article.

The base token now says 3/1/6/6. That's down from 7 hull that conflicted with the cards. Also, there's now a Nash Pup card shown. It has a star for the pilot skill. Probably to reflect that anyone can fly it.

Good catch! Now I need another Z-95 dedicated as the Nash Pup...

interesting that unless they just didn't include it. The Hounds Tooth doesn't come with the Z-95 model you need to use the Nash Pup... Perhaps with Wave 7 FFG is changing what seems to be their policy with X-Wing at least and not including everything you may need.

The article actually mentions that you will need a miniature from another expansion to use it.

it is a weird precedent to set

conflicted about it

on one hand, you don't want to bloat the price of the Hound's Tooth expansion since not everyone is going to want to run the pup

on the other hand, I could really use a fifth headhunter without buying most wanted again...

It's funny that you mention this as a precedent and at the same time mention that you've already bought Most Wanted... How many HWK and Firespray miniatures came in that box again? ;)

If you need a 5th headhunter, you get a rebel Z expansion. Even if you are a dial purist, the hounds tooth comes the the scum dial you would need.

well, most wanted was priced according to the 3 miniatures included. The rest was, for all intents and purposes, free.

Similarly, the Hound's Tooth will most likely run you the same as your typical large ship expansion (decimate excepted). If it had an extra Z-95, they'd have to charge you extra.

(edit: oh, so I guess "unprecedented" was not a good term to use given the standard set by MW so I just proved your point, my bad :P)

It's not the dial, I need another pirate card and base :( (which the pup won't be providing, for understandable reasons)

Also perhaps some have already seen but the prices are up for each one. Hounds tooth is 39.95, kwing is 19.95 and the krax fighter and punisher are 14.95.

This could all change upon release but it is what ffg has them as right now.

ah balls, Decimator and Starviper prices on the two ships I want

still worth it, imo, but it'll pain my wallet just that bit more :P

The 'z95 escape craft' idea is cool but totally shoots the 'small and large ships are 1/270' scale argument out of the water.

Unless the pup is flat packed inside there....

So the Star as a PS is that mean its the same PS as whatever pilot was flying the Hounds Tooth?

Probable

Makes sense doesnt it? I mean its the escape craft for the pilot so its going to be the same.. Just means they dont have to print 4 Z95 base chits

punisher are 14.95.

Really? The punisher isn't $20 as well. I am surprised.

Or it means that the ships are, in fact 1/270 the canon size, but that LFL is really bad at geometry.

I'm just hoping that the PS2 comes in at 28 points so that it can fly in a list with two IG-2000's. Or at 29 it could be put with one IG-2000 and a Firespray. An all bounty hunters squad would just be cool.

The reason for this is that the Hounds Tooth used to be bigger before the Clone Wars TV show. Earlier the Z-95 could have fit inside.

Now it doesnt really makes sense as it is, but I guess you can imagine a modification of the ship, similar to the Far Star, that adds more space for the Z-95 to fit in, or like Forgottenlore said, just imagine the ship constantly docked to the ship.

It is. Since it is in the larger size blister (the list price is actually 19.95).

As to the base chits for the Z-95. We can only see one, which is listed as Bossk at PS7. In theory we would need two chits to cover all 4 pilots, so maybe one is missing from the image. What I really wonder is if Bossk's ability (and or/EPT) will continue to function once he flies off in the Pup. If it does that will be awesome. I'm not holding my breath though.

I have 4x Z-95s, but now I need one painted and used as the Nash Pub exclusively :D

I've ended up buying about 12 Z95s!

6 rebel ones for a rebel swarm

4 black sun soldiers for a scum 'mini swarm'

another set of most wanted for Ndru Suhlak and the other dude in the orange and grey Z95

I was really hoping that you would be able to fly Bossk in a Z-95 in a squad but the lack of a pilot card kinda nixed that. Then I saw the base token, so I hope there are some things not shown. Being able to use Bossk in the Z would make this a really sweet deal.

My bad, yes the punisher is 19.95 as well.

FWIW that Natasha Pup pilot card had that asterisk last time before the update.
