Today I entered Vassal just to have some fun with my 3x Dagger Bs with HCL and FCS.

A guy asked for a game, saying he had to train for a tourney, so he wanted a timed game at 75 mins.

I set up the room, loaded my list and... he had no saved list so he set up his own in a few mins: double Falcon (Han & Chewie) with all the usual upgrades.

We placed obstacles and started to play! It was 7 pm Italian time.

I put my Bs in the upper right corner, he placed the Wookie in the middle and Han in front of my Bs.

First round: he took a straight 1 with both yts, i choose a 3 straight.

Second round: 1 straight for my ships and focus,1 left turn for him, parking Han on a small rock.

He was in range 3 so my HLCs fired: 9 hits out of 12 after focusing...

... he conceded

I looked at the clock: 7.05.

Well... i'm puzzled!

Last year at the ffg regional, Troy took a Vader, Maarek with ptl, and jonus with ptl, all 3 with assault missiles. Round 1 he faced a tie swarm. With 3 focus, jonus reroll assault missiles, the tie swarm never fired a shot.

Why would anyone fly in formation against that squad?

The swarm player probably didn't look very closely at the other list?
