If I focus to strike do I have to use all of my combat icons? If not, can I use some but not others?

You must use all if able.

You can't choose to only use one blast or not use unit damage.

There's sneaky exceptions like a unit with targetted strike does not have to use his unit damage if all the defenders are dead (if he wants to avoid killing an out of combat unit) but generally speaking you must use all combat icons.
