The text on the ion torpedo card doesn't say to cancel dice results. So, I'm wondering if they do the 4 points of damage (potentially - plus any critical results) plus the ion results?
Ion torpedoes - do they do damage?
Yes - they work exactly the same as any other secondary weapon attack with the addition of an ion token for the defender and every ship within r1 of the defender if the attack hits
Sweet. I know I'm going into our league night this evening, and one of the players always brings swarms (I think just to prove their viability) I'm hoping to catch him off guard with a bomber and 2 Autoceptors.
You bet they do and unlike most other Ion weapons there is no "cancel dice results" part of them so they can deal full damage to their target. Of course all of the ships caught by the splash just suffer the ion token and no damage but sometimes all you need to do is ionize them before moving in for a kill.
