Does Extra Munitions put an Ordnance token on itself?

On EACH equipped torpedo slot upgrade card. Extra munitions counts as a torpedo slot upgrade card.

Granted I'm not sure that giving it its own token would actually ACCOMPLISH anything, perhaps extra insurance against the Munitions Failure crit? I don't think it would even work that way, since Extra Munitions is not a secondary weapon.

Yes you could, and no it wouldn't accomplish anything.

Munitions Failure says secondary weapon upgrades, and this isn't a weapon, even though it goes in the torpedo slot.

So what you'd have is a token on a upgrade that never needs to be discarded so you'd never have a way to spend the token.

That's pretty much what I thought. However it is worth noting that it does technically get the token, for purposes of possible future upgrades. There may be a card someday that lets you consume an ordnance token to do something, an this could be a contender.

ok,

TIE bomber has 2 torp, 2 miss, and 1 bomb

now if you take:

cluster missile (4)

cluster missile (4)

proton bomb (5)

then equip 2 extra munitions cards you get:

cluster missile x 3 (4)

cluster missile x 3 (4)

proton bomb x 3 (5)

EM (2)

EM (2)

so that's 26 points of ordnance for 4 points!!!!!

Extra munitions is limited. You can only take one of it per ship.

Why does everyone ignore the "Limited" text on the card!?!

missed that, ooops

but still that would be 13 points of ordnance for 2
