"Redline" Tie Punisher

Hmm, double target lock; this seems amazing.

Most secondary weapons require the expenditure of a target lock to use the weapon. Often this means what you roll is what you are stuck with. With two target locks you now get a chance to improve your attack dice and improve your damage output with these expensive one use upgrades (Extra Munitions will reduce the cost of these upgrades).

Lets look past the basics and imagine the use of Advanced Proton Torpedoes. As before you need a target lock and will want a Focus when the torpedo is launched, not always the easiest thing to do. But, with two target locks and no focus for Advanced Proton Torpedoes just became more stable of a use with a 75% chance of doing 5 damage. Target Locks with no Focus means you still have a chance to push a decent amount of damage. 2 Target Locks with a focus the chance of getting 5 damage is 97.5%, up 7.5% from the 90% chance of 5 damage if you only have one Target Lock and a Focus.

Extra Munitions make Advance Torpedo a fearsome weapon on "Redline."

He's probably best with Proton Torpedoes and their built in focus.

I'd say he's best built with FCS, 2x Clusters and the Munitions upgrade...

He'd practically always have available rerolls after the first lock

The chance of a Proton Torpedo doing 4 damage with one Target Lock is 56%; with two Target Locks the chance of doing 4 damage is now 80%. This is not accounting for what bonus damage may occur due to critical damage.

I like Cluster Missiles, they are great against low agility targets. Against higher agility targets you are now at the mercy of the opponent's evade dice. I pointed out Advanced Proton Torpedoes because no mater what agility value the defender has they are now looking at taking two damage.

You can also use redline's ability with ordnance that doesn't spend your both of your TL. If you use 1, but not the 2nd, you hold onto one for a future round. Say you get your TL at range 3, spend 1 lock, get into range 1 next turn, focus, and let loose the advanced protons with focus.
