SLAM and Bombs

By Darth Chuck, in X-Wing

As a person who loves bombs and tries to find any excuse to run them, I was looking at the SLAM Action and was thinking this is how it would work.

My TIE Bomber has two Seismic Charges equipped as upgrades and can somehow SLAM.

Step 1: I set my dial to a 2-Bank Right maneuver.

Step 2: I reveal my dial during my Activation turn and poop out a Seismic Charge.

Step 3: Perform the 2-Bank Right maneuver, which is a green maneuver, and I do not overlap anything.

Step 4: Perform the SLAM Action to set my dial to the 2-Bank Left maneuver.

Step 5: Reveal the 2-Bank Left maneuver (not explicit in the reading of the card, but what good is choosing a maneuver on the dial if you can't reveal it?) and poop out another Seismic Charge.

Step 6: Perform the 2-Bank Left maneuver and gain the Weapons Disabled token.

I believe this is legal to drop 2 bombs in a turn. Avoid that.

A ship can only drop one bomb per turn. It's in the FAQ and I think on the bomb reference cards.

That is an easy fix. Change the FAQ to say "You may drop only one bomb per maneuver."

SLAMmin'. SLAMmin'. I hope you like SLAMmin', too...

SLAM also doesn't reveal a dial, so you can't drop a bomb after the initial move.

However, you can take the 2-point Advanced SLAM modification to grant a free action after the move. That would allow you to move, move again, and take a free action to drop one of these newfangled Cluster Mines or Conner Nets right in the path of those low-HP arc dodgers who have been taking over the meta over the last two waves.
