I'm pretty excited, the ship could look a little better but I like it more than a few shopd we have. Just based on points of the most expensive ship it will probably make its way into a few lists. This has potential to be my favorite scum ship
KIHRAXZ FIGHTER: The SCUM X-Wing!

Scum X-Wing and Kihraxz sure are funny ways to spell Ixiyen.

Yeah.
Yeah a little too late.
ehh....one adult ticket for the Doom Train
I generally like to wait until I have more info, but the fighter is basically a crappier X-wing. That is not a ship you even want to be compared evenly to. Unless the other pilots have amazing, jaw-dropping abilities, its going to be collecting dust.
A boost or roll would've made it far more palatable
Edited by ficklegreendiceI'm betting it'll have a slightly-better-than-X-Wing dial, more like E-Wing or TIE Advanced, to make up for the lost shield and Astromech. I think it'll see play, especially as the only 20ish point Scum ship right now is a cannon Scyk.

Y'know, Joe? In this case?
Not kriffing really. Making the Kihraxz an X-Wing knockoff is like telling me a .22 revolver is a legitimate revolver. No, no. It isn't. The Kihraxz- and I played Galaxies, was basically the Black Sun A-Wing/light fighter.
The Ixiyen was the X-Wing/TIE Interceptor Analogue. Not the other way around.
It's a mis-role of a fighter I know fairly well. Next they're going to try and tell me the Rihkxyrk could turn and was known for carrying a payload, and doesn't deserve 4 firepower. (You could mount three pairs of cannons on the sodding thing and could REALLY tear things open. I'm not making the barrel argument here but ****, you don't fire six shots without causing MAJOR owie.)
To be Fair the super Kihhraxz - the Vaksai was the scum variant of the heavy X (but also RGTI...)
Yeah. 2 guns not 4, focus on engine output not firepower.
Honestly I don't know where they are getting the stats either but that's ok.
From now on, it's strength 3 agi 2, and comparable hull/shields/actions.
The Dial will be the most interesting thing to find out.
I would have preferred the ix as well, or, you know - the dunelizard, since at least the Mandalorian huttese ships were already in. The Khiraxz, Rekjavik, Ixiyen, Vaksai etc are all black sun ships... yet the one released it seems will be in hutt paint.

There are no adult tickets for the Doom Train. The Doom Train is one of those little electric jobs at the mall, going around a small oval track very slowly.
The adults are the ones waiting to see what the ship actually looks like beyond--and I can't stress this enough--the one pilot card FFG has spoiled.
I am still buying six of these here Kihraxz-a-zus-iss!

I'm in the wait and see camp on this, it really seems to have great potential, I like the fact that they have the same colour scheme as the M3-A's and that PS5 pilot could see a fair bit of table time if it's got an EPT (which I have a feeling it will) and is costed fairly.
I think at 28 points given my ability is quite powerful that the generics costs are completely up in the air right now.

I get you, and I understand that these ships in that video game are strong in your mind.
BUT... this is STAR WARS FFG style, which is now and in cannon.
I know...

But I am here for the FFG STAR WARS Toys.

Looks and stats wise the Kihrazx is close enough to the X-Wing for me to love it. I do not care about it being in HUTT colors either cause Hutties use what they want to use, and they did use this ship and the other cool ships that are styled just like it.
See the magics here at Boss Central allows for the wonderful magnificent and very much beloved X-Wing to remain pretty fabulously great. In other words I make my own fixes and little alterations. Because for as much as I love FFG for making me all of these STAR WARS toys... i serve no corporate masters.

Zamples: in my games X-Wings get a upgrade that allows them to fire at their full ability but they can re-roll all blanks because their cannons are linked. We all saw that in the films. The top guns cycled then the bottom guns cycled, and the shots all went to the same place. The latter shots almost always hit. If you watch the films closely you will notice that when X-Wings fire they almost always hit. There is more to it of course, but I am not in the mood to write a full paper on why this works. Just think of tracer fire... kinda.
The results is that when you focus these linked cannons you get more crits to, because they already get a re-roll. This is no different in my mind than allowing a TIE to boost or evade. They should do that. But X-Wings and other ships like TIE Interceptors should kill things that they shoot more often then they do in the base game now. These weaker ships need it, my way fits the films, and I like it, and there is a justification in how real weapons work.
Good nuff.
I play the game properly according to the rules, the films, and me.

Wedge is the best Rebel X-Winger and he is only 29 points... so yeah it is going to be close and some-good I think... this crazy-cool Kihraxz!

could do without the condescending attitude, thanks
you really don't have to wait long to see how the fighter is going to turn out, it's has the actions of and is stated almost exactly to a Wave 0 ship and its PS 9 aced is priced in almost exactly to a Wave 1 ace. The similarities are glaring enough to allow for a decent prediction, rather than the above nonsense.

Yeah there is enough to make some reasonable general speculation. It is kinda easy to see too. This IS The SCUM X-Wing for now, and it works a little better with the extra illicit upgrades it has access too.

Except it isnt. Remember the days of the lambda debacle? Oh, no, you werent there. The he-hawing of how OP that ship was astounding. Wait and see, the x-wing works fine and sees plenty of use(I know you use the wes+luke stress bot, you didn't shut up about it for weeks). If your meta isn't using it because of the complaints on the boards, sorry! If this is the scum X and priced in the 20-21 zone, you can expect me to be using it. But then again I like proving the general consensus wrong ![]()
still not shutting up about Luke with R3-A@, V.I, and EU ![]()
Stress Wing baby! Abuse it!
Problem is less phantoms makes it less necessary ![]()
point is, the X-wing is not a ship you want to emulate. It can sneak by on the backs of 2 (luke, tarn) or 3 (biggs) pilots, but its gone through 3 sets worth of characters (core, expansion, transport) and is otherwise, by and large, just straight inferior to other rebel options (B-wing). Scum doesn't have the B, but it does have the far more efficient headhunter.
With all the HLCs and fat turrets flying around, there isn't much use for such an expensive, fragile fighter unless there is a balls-out insane pilot backing it up.
Edited by ficklegreendiceExcept you are missing hobbie, wes, and wedge as good pilots. Hell Wedge is a biggs with better PS and ability. Even Porkins has his place. The B-wing in my eyes and my local meta is NOT superior to Xs. Each does its own thing and gets its job done. Hell I hate the Bs dial, 2k turn is one of the easiest things to predict and block. So no, I don't think emulating a X-wing is bad. The fact that you could do 3 or so of these and all with ID (or FB/Hs) makes me happy.
I do not count any of those as good pilots in the current enviroment
I played Wes extensively (he was the first stress wing) and what ended up happening is he'd boost to cripple a ship and then get murdered because the X-wing has a garbage defensive profile for its cost and can't live without focus. Worse, lack of boost/roll means it can't arc dodge for ****, making it even easier to destroy.
Wedge has a scary ability, but again he's flying a ship that turns him into 80% glass, 20% cannon. Against these super buff dumb turrets and the legitimately scary **** like Aggressors, he just doesn't last to do enough damage.
As for Hobbie...how is he good? I see R3-A2 used on him, which is cute and all but then you have a focus-less X-wing begging to give your opponent free points.
Edited by ficklegreendiceI would discuss the finer points of why, but you are a man stubborn in his ways and likes to hear himself talk (type in this case) so it would be nothing but a waste of my time. There are many ways to make the ships do what you want. That's not to say the X-wing could benefit from a bit of survivability, but then again, couldn't all ships? So I will bow out, I have made my point and would rather not get into a frivolous debate that's been on this board to many times already.
You know how much I love Scum, Joe. They've been my favorite faction for a while. But the Scum X-wing should have been the Dunelizard or the Vaksai. I'd have bought at least 4 Vaksais. There is no telling how many Dunelizards I'd have bought. Maybe all of them? But this thing...meh...not worth 15 dollars.
So since the Vaksai is probably a more advanced version i would say the Khiraxz is a better choice because we are looking for something simple and rugged like the X-Wing. I mean the Vaksai looks cool and all, but so does the Khiraxz
The Dunelizard would have been a nice choice but a little boring since the stern section looks pretty much like a Scyk. So sonething new is better here.
But then i think you are just a bit obsessed with the two other ships.

if you are not interested in backing up your points, how about you just not post instead of making weak excuses at my expense?
I have not insulted you nor given you cause to insult me.
