TIE Punisher pilots lack EPT?

By quasistellar, in X-Wing

ouch. The question I'm asking is: is it a balance issue that we haven't forseen with the munitions and their innate pilot abilities? Or is it that they simply didn't have room on the cards, heh.

Also just noticed the K-wing lacks EPT as well?

Slow ships often don't get EPTs. The Y-wing and shuttle don't have them either.

yeah, not too shocking given some of the other ships that lack them, but it is a bit of a shame.

Mind you, i can see some combos being sick in conjunction with some of the pilot abilities, so that might be it......

The K-Wing doesn't have an EPT slot either, it looks like. I can think of a couple reasons that might come out of playtesting:

- No VI means no ordnance alpha-strikes at PS 9/10. We don't really want to start another PS bidding war.

- No PTL limits the ability to stack actions. There may unintended combinations that proved to be too good.

There is one reason, and one reason alone, why the K-wing and TIE punisher don't have EPTs. And it's not because the Wave 1 and 3 designers turned up and decided they didn't want them to have Expert Handling.

There's no space on the upgrade bar.

The K-wing and TIE punisher have so many upgrade slots that an EPT doesn't fit on them.

On the record, though, I think if FFG went back in time and did wave 1 over again, they'd probably put an EPT on Salm.
