Guessing Generic PS2 costs

By Fnords, in X-Wing

Hi!

Just made some quick comparisons and came up with something like this:

  • TIE Punisher PS2 Cost: 20-21 (based on TIE Advanced PS7/27, PS2/21 cost) -EPT
  • K-Wing PS2 Cost: 20-21 (based on X-Wing PS7/27, PS2/21 cost) -EPT
  • Kihraxz PS2 cost: 21-22 (based on X-Wing PS9/29, PS2/21 cost)
  • YV-666 PS2 cost: 27 (based on E-Wing PS8/35, PS1/27 cost)
What do you guys think the cost for the generic PS2 will be?

Easier way: just work back from what we know of the uniques. Given 1 PS almost always equals 1 point, it should be pretty much spot on, or at least within a point of the actual cost.

So:

K-wing: 29 - 6 = 23 points.

Punisher: 27 - 5 = 22 points.

Khiraxz: 29 - 7 = 22 points. The PS9 ability is fairly powerful, though, so if we assume he pays a point for it then the PS2 will be 21.

YV-666: 35 - 5 = 30 points.

The K-wing and Punisher feel about right compared to the B-wing, given they are slightly tougher but with weaker offence, and the Khiraxz compares almost perfectly to the X-wing (though that doesn't bode well the for the generic Khiraxz at all). The YV also feels about right; it's stat line is similar to a shuttle, with slightly more health, and with its extra upgrades and (presumably) better dial an extra 9 points doesn't feel unreasonable.

Based on the B-wing cost of 22 I doubt that.

With those stats that beat a B-wing it should be 22-25.

That's one way to look at it, I just think we have seen so many cases when ths is not the case:

Jonus PS6/22p -> Scimitar Squadron Pilot PS2/16p = 4 PS for 6p

Rhymer PS7/26p -> Scimitar Squadron Pilot PS2/16p = 5 PS for 10p

Ten Numb PS8/31p -> Blue Squadron Pilot PS2/22p = 6 PS for 9p

Jan Ors PS8/25p -> Rebel Operative PS1/16p = 7 PS for 9p

Interceptors and Advanced are all 1p more expensive then the 1:1 formula as well

Just thinking that we might see some other point ranges (=

Dunno 2 attack die is still only 2 attack die. You will have to put some upgrades on the ships to make them worth it

I am not necessarily disagreeing, but those are all ships from waves before the current designers.

  • TIE Punisher PS2 Cost: 18

  • Kihraxz PS2 cost: 21

I'll go 20 for cutlass squadron.

The Kihraxz generic is almost for sure going to be 21. It is meant to be based on the x-wing, but trading a shield for a hull. I also almost guarantee that if the dial isn't magnificent, that the ps2 generic will see as much use as the ps2 generic x-wing. Which is practically none.

I hope the kihraxz ps2 is 20, if not 19. It trades a shield for a hull, astromech for illicit, and torpedo for missile.

Since we know the x-wing is overpriced at 21, and the kihraxz is actually slightly less durable due to trading a shield for a hull, it should be priced at most 20.
