Just wondering; have anyone tried a 12 player game?
That is; 2 players are in charge of each house and have to debate among themselves even about what to do?
I played with a partner last night and it brought a whole new level of enjoyment to the game as our two heads made better decisions vs just having one of us. The game didn't slow down either, since we had a judge running a timer for each round. Recommended!
Team games of thrones?
Haven't tried it. I find it is hard enough just to find six players willing and able at the same time. But the possibilities for epic team playing are virtually endless! Someone could be responsible for diplomatic negotiations that take place in an adjoining room whereas troop movements and armies are visible only to military advisors. Information can only be sent with messenger ravens between the lord of the house and his/her advisors. I'm sure there are lots more that could be thought up, but finding uses for more people would be easy.
I had a crazy idea that you could play with two boards next to each other, facing different directions and play with 12 houses. I guess it would be tough but why not?
Would you play the same house on both boards (or a team with both instances of the same house)? Otherwise it could get a bit confusing with the ship and army tokens travelling between boards. It would also change gameplay a lot depending on which sides of the boards you decide to connect. It's certainly an interesting idea but I think it could be hard to find players dedicated enough to try it out because that is going to take a loooong time to play!
