There's only one, the other thing is confined to the Eighth Circle.
Agreed. The ship is the Pulsar Skate, so it ought to look like a sea creature rather than a bulldozer caught in flagrante delicto with a minivan.

Edited by Vorpal SwordI am looking forward to a wave of ships from new movie.

Well, glad you feel that way then, because so (it appears) does FFG.
That picture you've posted is the Baudo artwork from the Edge Of The Empire sourcebook Fly Casual (which also contains the YT-2000, the XG-1 and a number of other lovely possibilities for X-Wing and Armada...)
I'm aware of that lol
I wouldn't mind seeing tie droids, I think there is some potential design space there that isn't present in any other (non-prequel) ship.
But if they are going to do one of the uglies (and I doubt it), then I think they should do an entire wave of them. If your gonna do it, then commit to it, don't just throw out a single tie-wing and see if we like it.
I could not agree more (on both counts).
I suppose rather than a wave it could be a special "Ugly" pack of 3-4 ships Most Wanted fashion.
Yes! a three pack would be wonderful.
Tye-wing - light, disposable, cheap fighter.
Death Seed - medium fighter.
Z-cepter - heavy fighter with cannon and droid slot.
I really want the Tye-wing and I want cards for multiple factions. They could be Scum pirates, mercenaries, Rebel salvagers, whatever. Uglies, by nature, should have the ability to have a ton of upgrade slots. They should be able to take three ship modifications, maybe even a cannon slot for higher point cards.
Tye wings should be super cheap and easy to kill, just like Tie Droids. Those two could balance out.
Tye Wing 2-3-1-0?
Tie Droid 2-2-2-0?
Edited by Viceroy BoldaThe TIE droids are noted to have heavier armor, and being faster in atmosphere than a TIE interceptor. So I think for a droid, it'd be 2-3-4-0.
I think the TYE-wing would be a pretty garbage ship; your stats seem about right, but delete the shield; they weren't called 'DYE-wings' for nothing lol
Booo indeed. The 2000 is the best looking YT.
Not sure I'd go that far - the Falcon is iconic - but I like the Otana more than the Outrider, for sure.
When did we all lost our minds and started calling the YT-1300 pretty?
It's an ugly ship! The first reaction of Luke when he sees it is calling it "piece of junk". And that before even knowing how terrible it's systems were hacked together after years of dubious modifications.
If anything, the YT-2000 is the "pretty" ship from Corellian Egineering, made for the rich businessman. It was the one piloted by Ace Azameen's father. The owner of the family company.
Symmetric, not covered in beige grime, better visibility and design overall.
Anyway, I thought it was quite clear than in Star Wars, the uglier a ship is, the cooler it is.
It wasn't actually made for the rich businessman at all. No, its intention was Military Use. CEC was like "yo dawg those imps need SOOOOMEBODY to take 'em on with heavier firepower and better ships so what if SOOOOOOMEBODY got 'em?"
"You mean the re-"
"AH AH, NO. SOOOOOOOMEBODY"
"Got it."
Then The Empire was like, "F**k is this sith"
Then they stopped making it and went right onto the 2400.

Tie Droid 2-1-3-0?
Tie droids could have lower agility because they don't have instincts.
Edited by Viceroy BoldaVaksai in the wave 7 article artwork yesterday. So maybe a new Core Set will be a 3-faction core set with updates for X-wing, Kihraxz and TIE Fighter? They did this before gen con last year with the m3a.
Tie droids could have lower agility because they don't have instincts.
My friend made up some rules for TIE Droids(he owns, like, 10 models for them already). He represented the lack of instincts by giving them no action options on their action bar.
But then he made up a Crew upgrade card that was called something like Remote Droid Controller, that let him give access to Focus, Evade, Barrel Roll and Boost actions to a a single TIE Droid if it was within Range 3.
So he'd have, like, a Decimator with 3 of those loaded on them, so 3 of the TIE Droids per round had access to actions as long as they stayed near the ship.

I have four of them too.
I like your idea about no actions. That makes a lot of sense.
I also like the idea of the crew card for giving out actions. I would go one further. I would have the crew card say something like "Choose one tie droid range 1-3, assign a focus, evade, or barrel roll action to that ship and tie droid ships within range 1 of that ship."
I was actually thinking something similar. I think that the TIE droids should have access to barrel roll, evade and focus (if IG gets focus so why not a TIE droid?), the're not ace pilots, but they're not incompetent!
I was thinking droid controller should be like a 4 point system or mod, that passes the skill of the pilot to all TIE droids with range 1 or something.

Eh. That doesn't make as much sense to me.
The idea behind the controller is having a human pilot on the ship that is remotely piloting the TIE Droid, giving it access to human pilot actions. It doesn't make sense for one crewman to be able to control a bunch of TIE Droids at the same time.
For the empire the XG-1 Assault Gunboat and modified version of the Scimitar Assault Bomber would make me happy. I really like the scimitar assault bomber wing profile and shape, the cockpit....bleh.
For the scum and villainy I have always loved the the Pelagia Duplex Command Assault Gunboat; It is the right size for a large base and it is used by bounty hunters in the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic comic series.
I would love to see another full Scum wave to bring them up to the level of the other two factions.
Mist Hunter and Punishing One are pretty good choices to release the remaining bounty hunters.
As the third ship for the wave i would select the Rihkxyrk. It is a pretty cool looking ship and i would like to see it in X-Wing.
At that point the factions would be all on the same level cept for huge ships. I think this should be one sooner rather than later.

Mist Hunter is sort of wierd. Punishing One is almost a given.
I sort of want to see a non-SWG small ship for Scum, but offhand I can't think of a decent candidate.
e: actually, the Miy'til. Salvaged mech, cannon, missile, low attack. Maybe a card for the bomber variant. Would probably step on too many toes, but it's more an E-Wing/Defender/StarViper superfighter and not in the Y/Scyk price range.
Edited by TipperaryI sort of want to see a non-SWG small ship for Scum, but offhand I can't think of a decent candidate.
Cloakshape Fighter as a Bomber equivalent.
Oh right, I'd forgotten about that somehow.
Not totally sure on it as a Bomber sort of setup, but there's really a lot of ways it could be done.
I really wonder why they decided not to use the Assault Gunboat and the Blastboat. So many fans like those.
If they came out with a new starter that updated Xs Ties and khiraasjdnflksd I'd be happy with that.
Seems like this Punishing One is a given.
And the Otana as a second.
Yeah, XG-1, R-41, T-wing, Cloakshape YT2000, Punishing one, Misthunter and Blastboat have to appear at some point, they just do.
I'm shocked that the XG-1 isn't in yet, I know there are people that disagree, but come on man. TIE Fighter and X-wing. Hell, I put that case for the Delta class and DX-9 too.
I wouldn't be surprised if Wave 8 was very unusual indeed.
@Evanger: Most people (me included) are sure FFG isn't going to to any Rebels stuff, because they only bought the rights for the OT and the Expanded Universe. And I don't think they wanna mess up the two continueties by putting ships of Disney Canon into a game based on OT and Legends Canon as long as there are plenty of ships in the EU/Legends.
Interesting. I had no idea you could pick and choose, license-wise. Where did you hear this tidbit of information, may I ask? Podcast or similar?
Frankly, I agree in terms of style/aesthetics. I personally much prefer the OT and (now Legends) EU to the Clone Wars, Prequels, or even Rebels.
The above argument suggests we'll see no Ep. 7 tie-ins either.
That sounds incorrect to me, simply from a marketing perspective.
Maybe FFG will announce a re-launch of the starter set with Ep. 7 X-wings to take advantage of the coming hype.
It occurs to me that we have not seen any Imp small based ships that aren't TIE variants. 7 for 7. This, plus the fact that the Punisher is coming out makes me think Wave 8 will not contain the XG-1, but rather the TIE Avenger. It looks cool, for one, and has a great name. How to make it different, stats-wise? Don't know.
For small based Scum, we should get Mist Hunter and Punishing One. Arguments could suggest Punishing One should be Large, but if it were small based, then all factions would have 8 small ships.
One Rebel Large would make all factions equal again, at 3. I'd like to see the Baudo-class yacht. Its beautiful and shows up alot in EU stories.
Add the announcement for a Scum huge ship, and I would be completely out of ideas, moving forward.
Perhaps they'd reboot the game with an Ep.7 version of the starter set next year?
Edited by evangerWe also need another Rebel Aces sort of thing to include items like:
Y-wing pilot Ekelarc Yong (owner of the droid R5-P9, already in tge game). Perhaps the first unique Y-wing pilot with EPT.
X-wing pilot Grizz Frix (Red 5)
More astromechs!
R2-Q2 (Biggs)
R2-A3 (Wedge)
R2-D6 (Wedge in Y-wing!)
R4-G7 ( Hobbie Klivian)
R2-T7 (Grizz Frix)
Y-wing S3 variant (add crew slot)
Dak Ralter as crew
Wes Janson as crew
